The 1997 Blackhelm Confederate Grand Prix was an AstyF1 motor race held on April 18, 1997, at the Paradise City Race Track in Paradise City, Blackhelm Confederacy.
The race drew considerable media coverage due to it being the first major international sporting event in the newly established Blackhelm Confederacy. It would soon become infamous throughout racing circles, however, due to a fatal accident involving former AstyF1 champion Clayton Norris.

Death of Clayton Norris
During the 34th lap of the race, Clayton Norris slammed into a concrete barrier on the track, resulting in his death. The exact reason for the crash remains a mystery to this day.
