Omsk Consumer Products is a multinational food and drink processing company based in the United Kingdom of Malgrave. It produces a large variety of food and drink products, such as baby food, breakfast cereals, tea blends, snack items, and frozen food and includes popular stables such as Teslaade and Puffin bread.
Omsk Consumer Products are commonly sold in MalMart and Portmon Personal Market, although, since 2000 OCP have also attempted to form partnerships with foreign markets to extend the reach of their range.
History
Omsk Consumer Products was officially founded in 1938, as the result of talks between several smaller food processing companies in Portmon, Aurora and Omsk to try and reduce costs during the early stages of the civil war. Between 1938 and 1989 Omsk Consumer Products steadily expanded and became known for producing a range of highly successful products such as arancini, rice balls and cup noodles which were popular in smaller stores of Portmon Personal Market.
In 1994 Omsk Consumer Products ran into financial difficulty as a result of losses sustained due to the Lost Decade. It was initially thought that MalMart would purchase the company, however, political issues at the time combined with the popularity of the brand as an independent company led to the company being nationalised in 1995.
Since that date, a few proposals have been made to orchestrate a partial stake in Omsk Consumer Products to differing brands in other countries such as the Dornalian Republic and Kouralia but so far these plans have not been enacted.
Expansion
In 1995 Omsk Consumer Products started working more closely with state-run companies like MalMart and MalTec to work on a strategy of overseas expansion in preparation for the end of isolationism. Initially, Omsk Consumer Products worked tightly with MalMart and Portmon Personal Market to sell their goods overseas, however, since 2010 they have also started to partner with other markets, hotels and restaurants to sell their goods.
Omsk Consumer Products have also added a number of international brands to their collections, with a few Dornalian and Kouralian brands purchased after their performance was noted in local MalMart stores.
