Tống Thùy Oanh (13 January 1969) is a Quenminese officer in the Royal and Imperial Quenmiense Air Force who commands the 5th Air Group. During the Vartaxian Civil War, her squadron played a role in the Battle of Firebase Cầy Hương, where she provided air support that increasingly weakened the rebel offensives and convinced the latter to withdraw.

Early life

Oanh was born in Phan Rang Ngãi to farmer parents.

She enrolled in the Bạch Đặng Air Force Academy, and was a distinguished student. She completed the pilot program with high marks, and graduated from the academy as a second lieutenant.

Military career

She first served in the 12 July Insurgency against the Revolutionary Force for the Restoration of Imperial Quenmin, where she took out air defences. She was promoted to Captain in the conflict's conclusion, and was given command of the 2nd Squadron of the 5th Aviation Wing

At the time the Vartaxian Civil War was instigated, the wing she served under were among the Air Force wings selected to serve in the Royal and Imperial Quenminese Expeditionary Force Vartaxia to assist government forces. In the late stages of the war, Oanh played a pivotal role during the Battle of Firebase Cầy Hương. Her squadron to provide air support to the surrounded army units at the base while under intense anti-aircraft fire, and later destroyed key positions and prevailed against incoming rebel aircraft sent in to relieve their forces of air attacks. Her squadron's actions and leadership would earn her the Distinguished Service Medallion.
