As the calendar turned to 1975, war looked increasingly likely. The states of the globe were gathered into two alliances - the Ctesiphon Pact, made up of the Sassanid Empire, Republic of Carthage, Republic of Inukirinwdene, Socialist Empire of Russia, Gozen Shogunate, and Brazil were aligned against the Montgomery Pact. Montgomery Pact states included the Venetian Commonwealth, Byzantine Empire, European Federation, Mayan Empire, Mapuche Confederation, Mongol Empire, Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and the Confederate States of America. | |||

Background
As the calendar turned to 1975, war looked increasingly likely.
