Archer County is a county located in southwestern West Monroe. As of the 2020 census, the population was 59,997. The county seat is Lexington.
The federal government designates Archer County as part of the Greater Rhone Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Geography
According to the Ibican Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,027 square miles (5,250 km2), of which 1,590 square miles (4,100 km2) is land and 437 square miles (1,130 km2) (21.6%) is water.

Government
The county is governed by a four-member county Commissioner's Court, elected from single-member precincts. The court is lead by an elected County Judge, currently Clive Dobbs. A sheriff and tax assessor-collector are elected in at-large positions countywide. The sheriff of Archer County is Emerson Briggs.
