Celestials (Chinese: 仙人 xiānrén) are powerful beings that carry a much higher concentration of Divine Spark than other species, allowing them to harness Qì (Realms) directly from the universe through their wings.
Overview
Celestials are former humans who attained a higher level of spiritual enlightenment than simple Awakened, being "something between an angel and a human". The methods for achieving this state differs by individual, with Tianshi being granted celestialhood after dying to save the world from The Devil and choosing to go back to Earth to correct the mistakes of earthlings, Trigramme claiming to have achieved it through what he described as his own efforts, and Starlight claiming to have purchased her celestial-like powers.
History
When Tianshi's human body was destroyed by The Devil, he was offered a choice; to die as a martyr and go to Heaven or return to Earth and lead humans to a new age of progress. Taking the latter option, he was reborn as a Celestial.
Two years later, a young woman was found in Ascion possessing similar physical abilities and Powers as Tianshi, along with similar weaknesses, with the exception of drawing Qì directly from her soul instead of kneading it from physical and spiritual energy, thus shortening her lifespan whenever she uses her Powers. She has since been considered a false Celestial; a human with properties of a Celestial.
Appearance
Celestials are identical to humans in appearance with the exception of a pair of feathered wings, with the colour and Powers it provides being unique to each individual. Celestials can make their wings appear or disappear at will, as the wings are Qì made manifest.
Abilities
Physical Abilities
Celestials have demonstrated superhuman strength and speed, trumping most Vampires and possibly even rivaling or exceeding that of Dragons. They also have increased durability and stamina.
Qì and Powers
The main advantage Celestials have over other species is the ability to draw Cosmic Energy through their wings, gaining a third source of energy to be kneaded into Qì in addition to their bodies and souls. The wings of a Celestial provide the individual with a Soul Arsenal of two different Qì colours. Celestials are so spiritually complex that every child one has is guaranteed to have Powers, regardless of the other parent's species or Powers (or lack thereof).
Weaknesses
As Celestials are Divine Beings, they are susceptible to weapons and ammunition made from Soulstone, as well as Powers involving sins.
