Grand Prince Maximilian of Stradia was the only child of Holy Emperor Joseph V and thus his heir.

Early Life

Viceroy of Gacilia and Matovia

He moved into the old Kakralinnian Castle, he forced the prime minster to move into the palace with him.

He dissolved the parliament from 1841 until 1846, his wife eventually convinced him to reopen it with the parliamentarian edition to the constitution that the Viceroy could be given dictatorial powers when parliament should see fit, which were given to Maximilian shortly after reopening.

He opened the Imperial Maximilian University

He made school compulsory for girls too.

Political Ideology

Maximilian believed in the principle of enlightened monarchism, he would do everything for the people. He had ambitions to recall the Carolinian constitution and re-establish Stradia as an absolute monarchy. He modeld himself after Holy Empress Antonia the Great.
