Angevinia is bordered by Erie and the United States Emergency Government to the south, Rontroit to the west, the État Michif to the northwest, and Nunavut and Klaalit Nunaat to the north, though these borders are either maritime or cover parts of the Jamésie-Kativik autonomous agreement. Compared to other nations in Merica, Angevinia is a sizeable ## km2 (### square miles), making it the third largest nation on the continent, after Alaska and Saskatchekhanate. As of 2320, it has a population of around 47.3 million. The country's population centres are spread across the coastlines of the nation, but vast tracks of rural and untouched land still remain, alongside ample nature preserves. It is a Semi-Constitutional Monarchy, self-described as "Integralist with Falangist characteristics." The largest city in the nation is the Enenwoy-New Hahtland urban area, and the capitol is Awlbany. The "Declahration a tha Commonwealth" establishes the state as majority Catholic, but provides protection for religious minorities living within it's borders. It also describes the state as "absolute," with it's sovereignty derived from God and military power.
 
It's borders cover what was, in pre-Collapse terms, New England, parts of the Mid Atlantic and New York Metropolitan area, Québéc and the Maritime Provinces of Canada, Labrador and Newfoundland, Upstate New York, and part of Ontario.
 
Pre-Collapse, Angevinia was inhabited by various Native American and Aboriginal Canadian tribes before being conquered and colonized by primarily British and French settlers. It served as a religious hub for Puritanism in the south and Catholicism in the north. It was the site of many different cultures meeting, including Norse meeting Natives, Western Europeans meeting Natives, and English meeting French. Primarily divided into three (and occasionally four) parts throughout most of it's history, it was generally known as "New England," "Quebec," "The Maritimes," and "Newfoundland and Labrador." The first of these proved to be instrumental in the American revolution, and the remaining three were part of Canada or the British Emprie for most of it's pre-Collapse history. America emerged as a heavily New England-influenced nation during it's beginning, and solidified it's power all over what is now Merica through Manifest destiny. The majority of Canada's population lived in Ontario, Southern Quebec, and the Maritimes, and formed the bulk of importance in Canadian history. During the 1950s and onwards, these regions all experienced vast cultural shifts and changes, and helped form the American Empire and NATO, widely considered by historians to have been the most powerful Empire in human history. Despite this, cultural changes, economic problems, demographic changes, political instability, and climate change would together prove to be too much for the American Empire to handle, and that, mixed with pushes by far left, far right, and anarcho-primitivist extremists, would cause a civil war in the late 2020s and early 2030s, leading to an eventual collapse of American and Canadian society in the 2030s and 2040s. During the Second American Civil War, what is Angevinia generally sided with the unsuccessful Democratic Forces and Antifascist militias, which were methodically wiped out by defecting units of the American military, the Gilead Compact, and various far-right militias. Despite this, the ruin brought to America proved too much for it to recover in time before the Great Collapse in 2049, in which the world was thrown into chaos by the eruption of the Yellowstone Supervolcano at the hands of Kaczynskiist extremists.
 
Following the Great Collapse, the Angevin Commonwealth was founded after various towns and cities in what was the Connecticut River Valley allied with one another around 2100, and elected Karl Kosmaczewski as their first King. Kosmaczewski was, according to numerous sources, a "noted eccentric but good leader," and he sought to create what he considered to be the "American equivalent of Duginism" or "Caesar's Legion." Kosmaczewski pushed to revitalize what he saw as "traditional Northeastern Cultures" and began to methodically bring the rest of New England under his rule, first pushing east and then north, and bringing most of the region fell within Angevin control by 2134 at the time of Karl's death. Afterwards, they also expanded southwards into Deitsch territory, annexing most of what was Pennsylvania and began pushed the push north. In 2221 and into 2222, the Angevin Pahlament, under mounting pressure from the Royal Family and Royalist factions within the government, formed the Angevin Commonwealth, officially adding the other territories of their Kingdom alongside tributaries into one large Empire. The capital city is the historic Awlbany (Albany) and it is home to roughly over 3,350,000 people, making it the third largest city in the Commonwealth. The King is currently Planter John Dogood, the executive head of state. The Head of Pahlament is David Zekara, the appointed head of Pahlament. Pahlament, alongside society in general, is mainly dominated by the monarch-led Angevin Patriot(e) Party, or APP/PAP.
 
Throughout its long history, Angevinia has been a leading global center of culture, reform, tradition, and more, with it making significant contributions to art, science, theology, industry, and philosophy. Angevinia is a great power with significant cultural, economic, military, and political influence. A developed country with the a high standard of living, Angevins enjoy a good quality of life, and the country performs well in international rankings of education, health care, life expectancy, and human development. Angevinia is a member of the Forum for International Dialogue, and was a founding member of the Merican Union, with King Franklin II proposing the idea himself in 2299.

Angevinia comprises numerous regions, but the superregion known as "Angevinia" is a post-collapse creation that harkens back to reference the Angevin Empire, or the Empire of the Plantagenêts. This was a medieval Norman dynasty that ruled parts of England and France with smaller holdings in Ireland. Due to the shared nature of the medieval dynasty's holdings encompassing peoples of English, French, and Celtic stock, the term "Angevin" was repurposed by those living within territories largely inhabited by those groups in the New World after the collapse. English speaking Yankees, including many of Irish and French descent; French speaking Qadians and Québécois; and Celtic speaking Scoshuns all live within the borders of Angevinia, and seeing a similarity is not hard to find.
 
Since its formation and the cementing of it's status, the Commonwealth is more of a title than an actual meaning. Acting more akin to an Empire in function, the term "Commonwealth" for Angevinia harkens back to the days of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, one of the most populous states in what was America and New England before the Great Collapse. Additionally, the term "Commonwealth" was found favorable due to it's connotations of being more egalitarian for smaller groups in the nation, and most Yankees of Polish descent view the term favorably due to European history as well.
 
While post-Colonial languages of European descent refer to Angevinia directly as a Commonwealth, the official native languages don't do so directly. Two of these languages, Iroquoian and Algonquian, are half-reconstructed languages and were made to be "pan-native" languages depending on their language family. Two other ones, Mi'kmaq and Innu-Inuttitut, are revitalized, already existant native languages. All of these language have extremely complex grammar systems which makes direct translations into Colonial languages difficult. In Iroquoian, Angevinia's official term, rather than "Commonwealth," is "Ganonsyoni Angevinia," which roughly translates to "Angevinia, The Lodge Extended Lengthwise." On the other side of Angevinia, the Algonquian language refers to the nation as the "Angevinia Nutohkemminnit," or "Place of our Angevin Land." While "Nutohkemminnit" originally referred to a now submerged place in eastern Massachusetts, the term has been re-fitted by the Angevin government and the Algonquian people to refer to the country as a whole. The other two native languages refer to Angevinia in a similar way.
