Imai Amaya (born 1976) is the Deputy Paramount Leader of Neo-Korea, having been recently appointed to the role after the retirement of Kamiya Kazue. Imai's appointment to the role would come as a shock, owing to his lack of major cabinet positions and relative inexperience in government, but was generally accepted due to his perceived capability and youth. Imai has been involved in several diplomatic events since his appointment, including the 2034 Summerhall Summit, leading several experts to believe he is being positioned to inherit Beom Dae's role as Paramount Leader.
Imai was born in Fuzan in the midst of its post-war reconstruction efforts, and would benefit greatly from the educational reforms enacted in it by Beom Dae during his period as a member of the Central Governing Council, owing his abaility to go to the Fuzan School of Engineering to said reforms.
Early Life
Imai was raised in the Third Fuzan Creche after being born to a family unable to afford the costs (personal or political) to raising him. He would experience a relatively normal childhood under the Creche, being non-notable in regards to education, political membership, or other activities throughout this period, although he would renounce participation in the White Guard during the Five Monstrosities Campaign, owing to their targeting of certain structures he had found personally appealing.
He would serve his two years of military service without incident.
Political Career
Upon graduating from the Fuzan School of Engineering, Imai would spend 5 years bouncing between engineering roles for Fuzan-based Iminchebol, eventually entering into politics upon the loss of a job with Karasu due to personal differences with a manager. He would win the Fifth District Seat upon the resignation of Sawa Aimi, owing to his youth in comparison to his (similarly party-backed) competitor and the percieved risk of older officials in the wake of Hikaru Sakuma falling into a coma. He would hold the role for 15 years, winning 3 more elections and witnessing the shift in power to Beom Dae in 1995.
In 2030, on the heels of his third district victory, he would be appointed as Deputy Paramount Leader after the retirement of the former individual to hold the spot, Kamiya Kazue. In this role he has shown proficiency, successfully engaging in interaction with foreign leaders during the 2034 Summerhall Summit.
