The Independent Organization (IO) is an international non-profit and non-governmental organization with a stated mission of protecting freedom of information in the whole Wider Realms. It has consultative status to the Organization of Nations. It is headquartered in Ar Lavo, Odevia and has offices in Moldoss, Federate Union and Unsda, Pacalay.
It was established in 1932 as the successor to the Panel of Worldwide Journalists, an early Organization of Nations panel that formed in the aftermath of the East-West War. During the Two Powers Period, the IO expanded significantly. After the Slowdown, the IO provided important coverage during the Wave of Nations.
