Catherine, Princess Royal (Catherine Charlotte Natalie Lauren Charles; born 28 January 1969), known professionally as Kate Joan, is a British supermodel, actress, entrepreneur, and a member of the British royal family. The only daughter of King Charles III and American actress Lauren Bacall, she was made Princess Royal in 1996 upon the death of her great-great-aunt Mary, Princess Royal.

Beginning in the late 1990s, Catherine first rose to fame as a Victoria's Secret model under the pseudonym Kate Joan, becoming the first British model to be made a Victoria's Secret Angel, while also being featured for major fashion brands and designers, namely Alexander Wang (designer), Louis Vitton, and Balenciaga, all of which helped to establish her as one of the most highly-paid models at the turn of the century, as well as a leading figure in British fashion alongside the likes of Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, the latter to whom she was often compared, with the media famously dubbing them "The Kates of England" owing to their similar first names and height.
Beginning in the early 1990s, under the pseudonym of Kate Joan, Catherine first rose to fame as a model for Victoria's Secret, becoming its first-ever British Victoria's Secret Angel in 1993. Over a decade-long career, she walked for various designers and brands including Vera Wang, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Prada, and Louis Vuitton, appeared on a variety of publications including Vanity Fair (magazine), Vogue (magazine), and Glamour (magazine), and notably holds the record with six cover appearances for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, surpassing Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson. Due to her ancestry, Catherine was often compared to fellow English model Kate Moss, with Karl Lagerfeld famously dubbing them "The Great Kates". By the turn of the century, she was one of the highest-paid models in the world and was dubbed by Anna Wintour to be the "quintessential English rose (epithet)" with her slim build and high cheekbones being distinguishing features.

In 2005, upon retiring from professional modelling, Catherine embarked on a new career path as an actress, beginning with her breakout role as Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale (2006 film), for which she won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. In the following year, she starred opposite Jamie Foxx and Matt Damon respectively in The Kingdom (film) and The Bourne Ultimatum (film), the latter being a considerable commercial success while also establishing her as a rising female action star. To that end, following a brief role as Agent 99 in the 2008 spy comedy, Get Smart (film), in that same year, Catherine founded her own production company, Atlantic Hub, under which she later went on to personally produce and direct the widely-successful Kate Joan spy trilogy, which won her four Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and three BAFTA Film Awards, while also consistently placing in the top ten list of highest-grossing films each time, with the third entry, Kate Joan: Cold Resolution notably becoming the highest-grossing film of 2014. In that, whilst primarily known for her work with the Kate Joan franchise, Catherine has also starred in a number of other films including The Dark Knight Rises, Ocean's 8, Ghostbusters (2016 film), Enola Holmes (film), and Money Monster, directed by fellow actress and wife, Jodie Foster.
In 2005, Catherine retired from professional modeling in favour of an acting career, beginning with a role in Just like Heaven (2005 film). Following this, Catherine further starred in several films including The Holiday, 21 (2008 film), and Inglourious Basterds before properly establishing herself as a major star as the fictional English spy hero Kate Joan, a role that she portrayed across three films: Dangerous Entry, Dark Network, and Downfall. Following this, Catherine went on to appear in other films including Argo (2012 film), Money Monster, Jason Bourne (film), Disobedience (2017 film), Ocean's 8, and Knives Out. In addition to her modeling and acting careers, Catherine has also been actively involved in activism, especially concerning women's and children's issues. In 2014, she founded the program Women Without Silence in order to combat domestic violence, workplace discrimination, and other related issues. Moreover, she was also made an honorary advisor to the Minister for Women and Equalities, a role she has held since 2017.

In addition to her modeling and acting careers, Catherine has also been actively involved in activism, especially concerning women's and children's issues. In 2014, she founded the program Women Without Silence in order to combat domestic violence, workplace discrimination, and other related issues. In response, she was later made an honorary advisor to the Minister for Women and Equalities in 2017 by the current minister, Nicky Morgan. Aside from that, Catherine has also launched her own clothing line, Kate Joan Clothings, which is marketed as being "appropriate and fitting for all ages".
Known for her unconventional lifestyle, Catherine is the first member of the British royal family to publicly idenfity as bisexual, having been in previous relationships with both men and women including Madonna, Jenny Shimizu, Mick Jagger, and Dennis Rodman. Since 2011, she has been married to the American actress Jodie Foster, with whom she has four children including the fashion model Georgia May Jagger and the basketball player Corey Rodman.

On January 2011, Catherine married the American actress, Jodie Foster, becoming the first member of the British royal family to marry a partner of the same sex. Beforehand, the princess was known for her nearly two-decades-long relationship with the American singer, Madonna, with the relationship being the subject of much controversy and attention. Separately, in addition to being the mother of two daughters, whose father was never publicly revealed, Catherine is also the mother of the American soccer player, Charles Rodman, whom she had by the former American basketball player, Dennis Rodman.
With an estimated net worth of $47.5 billion via her shares in the multi-billion dollar holding company Atlantic Connection, Catherine is widely accepted to be the richest fashion model in the world and also the fourth richest woman in the world.

Personal Life
As per longstanding British royal customs, being the eldest and only daughter of the British monarch, in 1996, Catherine was given the title of Princess Royal by her father sometime after her great-aunt, whom previously held the title, had passed away. Ironically enough, during her subsequent years as a model and later an actress in her own right, Catherine largely avoided using the title herself, preferring to instead be referred to by her own given name as opposed to simply being known as "the Princess Royal", a title that she once described as "fancy to have, but not so pleasant to be known by, especially in public".

Despite her past reputation as a "party girl" and, by her own admission, a "very wild person", Catherine is nonetheless said to be somewhat academically inclined in her own right, as evidenced by a bachelor's degree in design that she earned from the University of London prior to her modeling career, as well as a master's degree in fine arts from the State University of New York, which she earned sometime between the end of her modeling career and the beginning of her ensuing acting career, which Catherine chose to pursue after being personally inspired by her then-girlfriend and later wife's academic prowess.
Standing at approximately 1.70 metres tall, compared to her family members, Catherine is known for her somewhat short stature, especially in contrast to her older brothers Thomas and Nelson, who stand at 1.87 metres and 1.82 metres tall respectively. Conversely, she is of similar height to her 1.70 metres tall daughter Georgia May Jagger although her wife Jodie Foster is much shorter than herself, standing at roughly 1.6 metres tall.

As a fashion model of British ancestry and fair complexion, Catherine was often the subject of comparison and a supposed rivalry that pitted her against fellow British model Kate Moss. In this, while the two women were born five years apart, both emerged in the modeling industry around the early 1990s and went on to become global names in their respective rights. However, unlike Kate Moss, who represented a departure from the "traditional supermodel look", Catherine came to be perceived by many as a "continuation" of the so-called "traditional supermodel look". In this, owing to the two of them both being named Kate, a rivalry between them came to be popularly nicknamed as "Battle of the Kates". However, in a 2017 interview discussing the "rivalry", Catherine herself claimed that it was "manufactured by the industry and media", adding that she and Kate Moss "got along well in general". Adding further, she said, "Frankly speaking, there are some things about her (Moss) that I might not personally agree with but that's normal since we're all humans who have different lives and ways of thinking. Irrespective of this, me and Kate don't have any sense of deep and personal hatred for each other. In the end, we're both in a way representatives of British fashion and we're absolutely proud to shoulder that responsibility every single day". Later on, Kate Moss herself was in attendance at Catherine's 2011 wedding to actress Jodie Foster while Catherine is a godmother to her friend's daughter Lila Moss.

Despite her well-known list of romances and unconventional lifestyle, in a 2018 interview, Catherine claimed that for much of her adult life, she never took drugs in the slightest out of both respect for her own family and for her burgeoning modeling career especially during her early years. In a candid revelation, Catherine remarked, "While I did indeed dated and, in some instances, made love to some people here and there, drugs or the sort, especially the most harmful ones, never really found their way into me in the slightest. In the end, I knew how to have fun and just indulge in my deepest desires but at the same time I had a growing career to work on and I do not intend to jeopardise that eitherway. To simply put it, I am and can be a professional when I want to". In addition, Catherine also cited the rather early birth of her two daughters as a reason, stating that as a mother, she "wanted to set the best example that I could for my two little girls". Nonetheless, Catherine has and does otherwise drink alcohol on multiple occasions, albeit occasionally rather than regularly, having once said, "Indeed, I do drink at times but that, like most people who do so in a controlled manner, is only when I'm looking to relieve myself of some great pressure or the sort. If anything, I can go a whole month without drinking if I'm asked to, provided that I'm not otherwise saddled with strenuous tasks along the way".

Relationships
Madonna
Mick Jagger
Prior to her marriage to American actress, Jodie Foster, Catherine, from the early 1990s to the late 2000s, gained much fame and notoriety for her sensational romance with American singer, Madonna. It was later reported that the two began their relationship in 1992, sometime after Catherine had first moved to the United States, where after attending one of the singer's concerts, Catherine, in a bid to know the controversial American singer further, attempted to reach out to the latter through one of her agents, an attempt that proved successful when she was then suddenly phoned by one of Madonna's agents, whom subsequently told the princess that the singer was "very interested" in meeting her personally. Soon enough, following their first physical encounter with one another at Madonna's estate, which then reportedly ended with the two women subsequently making out with one another through the night, with the Madonna later being claimed by the princess to have taken her virginity, the two afterwards began an almost decade-long romantic relationship that would last for roughly fifteen years, and which, due to Madonna's many bizarre acts as a singer and her controversial public image, was also riddled with a considerable amount of controversy, not least due to the nature of the couple's relationship.
From 1988 to 1994, Catherine engaged in a romantic relationship with English singer and The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger who was said to be her first serious boyfriend. In this, reportedly out of general familiarity owing to their common English nationalities as well as Catherine's own high social standing as a member of the royal family, the Princess Royal first engaged in a discreet relationship with Mick Jagger while the latter was then still in a relationship with his then-partner and English model Jerry Hall with whom he later parted ways after his relationship with the royal was discovered sometime afterward.

Interestingly, while Catherine herself remained mostly unmarried throughout the course of the couple's relationship, Madonna, while still said to be "actively" in love with the Princesd Royal, went on to marry English director, Guy Ritchie, with whom she was married to from 2000 to 2008, a fact that otherwise proved little to no effect in disrupting the couple's sensational relationship. On the other hand, despite remaining largely unmarried throughout the course of her relationship with the American singer, Catherine, often in conjunction with the Madonna herself, nonetheless engaged in a few extra romantic affairs herself, with the most well-known instance being with former American basketball player, Dennis Rodman, by whom she later gave birth to a son, Charles Rodman after being unexpectedly impregnated by Dennis Rodman for a daring challenge she had attempted alongside Madonna herself, in which the two women both reportedly offered the American basketball player $20 million each if he could impregnate them both in a single go, an endeavour in which he only succeeded with Catherine only, and not with the American singer. In addition to that, it was also later said that for an unspecified period of time, Catherine was in a three-way relationship with both Madonna and the American model, Jenny Shimizu, whom later claimed that the American singer would at times fly both her and the Princess Royal to destinations across the world for sexual liaisons, a claim that Catherine herself however denied in public interviews, and which she then jokingly described as "wild lesbian fantasies". Separately, for a brief and mostly insignificant period of time, Catherine was also said to have momentarily dated the English rock singer, Mick Jagger, whom she later claimed to have liked marrying in an alternate reality.
Over the course of their almost five-year-long romance, the couple had only one daughter, namely Georgia May Jagger. Around January 1994, an alleged refusal on the part of Mick Jagger to officially enter into a state of marriage resulted in the couple officially parting ways with Catherine herself taking sole custody of their Georgia May Jagger. Later, around June 2018, Catherine became the subject of renewed media interest when Georgia May Jagger married Hugh Grosvenor, 7th Duke of Westminster, a British aristocrat and one of the richest men in Britain with an estimated net worth of $14.5 billion, thereby becoming Duchess of Westminster by marriage. In 2022, the couple welcomed a daughter Catherine.

Among other things, throughout the course of her relationship with the singer, Catherine herself appeared in several of Madonna's music videos, with the most infamous being the music video for the 1990 single, Justify My Love, in which she, along with American model, Tony Ward (model), made love with the singer's character in the music video. In a subsequent recollection of the events surrounding her participation in the song, Catherine said, "On the surface, it definitely sounded like something I'm just willing to give a try for the sake of it, which I did, but it came with a very specific rule, in that my name would not be mentioned at all when talking about it (music video) ever". Meanwhile, when asked about her feelings at the time over having to appear partially nude and later engage in romantic acts with the singer and her then-girlfriend, Catherine said, "Personally, she (Madonna) cared a lot about making sure that I felt fully comfortable doing it and therefore, being able to get through it from beginning to end". She further added, "She understood well just how crazy shooting the music video is going to be, and so, she was always there to help me if I ever felt uncomfortable or needed some help in something related". Nonetheless, due to its explicit imagery, the music video itself provoked considerable controversy among the American public upon its release and was even met with a ban due to its overly explicit theme. However, despite her participation in the music video, it was also revealed that on the other hand, when suggested by her girlfriend to also star in the 1993 film, Body of Evidence, Catherine herself largely refused to do so, having been supposedly worried over her unpolished acting skills at the time, coupled with her own personal refusal to film a sex scene involving her character, which she feared would "come to haunt me years later". In the end, the role itself later went to American actress, Julianne Moore.
Dennis Rodman
Around 1994, via her then-girlfriend and singer Madonna, Catherine became acquainted with the American professional basketball player Dennis Rodman who was then playing for the National Basketball Association's San Antonio Spurs. Not long after their first encounter, Catherine, having recently parted ways with English singer Mick Jagger, began a relationship with Dennis Rodman whose mutual attraction towards Madonna, Catherine's own girlfriend, resulted in them establishing a short-lived ménage à trois that famously led to both Catherine and Madonna being dubbed "Rodman's Little Ladies" given that Dennis Rodman largely towers over the two of them in height.

Then, throughout the later half of their relationship, although the couple would continue to remain mostly close with one another, Catherine, in addition to transitioning to a mother herself through the birth of her two daughters, Lauren and Eliza, would nonetheless begin to drift away from her partner after she began a relationship with the American actress, Jodie Foster, whom she first met while attending the 80th Academy Awards ceremony in 2008. Reportedly, Madonna, whom previously tolerated and even encouraged her partner's side affairs despite the two being romantically linked in the process, otherwise begin to grow gradually "distrustful" and, according to Catherine herself, "spiteful" of the American actress, whom the singer later said in an interview, "was looking to steal my girl". Eventually, the couple's long-term relationship came to an end in 2010, just a year before Catherine and Jodie Foster themselves later married in 2011. Since then, according to some sources, the two have continued to remain friends, while others claim that the two have "essentially cut each other off their lives" since the Princess Royal's marriage to the American actress, with observers noting the lack of further appearances of the two together, even under non-romantic circumstances. However, amidst the apparent silence and lack of further contact between the two, their past relationship briefly became a topic of interest following the release of the 2011 single, You're Gone (single) by Madonna, in which the lyrics, despite not directly mentioning the Princess Royal by name, was believed by many to be about the royal and her past relationship with the Madonna, as well as the subsequent fallout of their romance.
In that same year, the couple's affair reached a new high when as part of a spontaneous challenge in which both Catherine and Madonna attempted to have children by the basketball player, Dennis Rodman, promised by financial rewards, reportedly attempted to impregnate both women at the same time. In this, Dennis Rodman proved only moderately successful, having successfully fathered a son Corey by Catherine while otherwise failing to do so with Madonna. Consequently, for the next few months or so, Catherine lived together with Dennis Rodman as she raised their child together. However, the arrangement would prove short-lived as alleged issues of incompatibility and Catherine's own apparent inability to adapt to the unusual living circumstances led her to eventually leave the throuple altogether while also assuming full custody of their son together.

Separately, in recent years, the couple's past sensational relationship, and the differing circumstances of their respective lives in the present, has made the two a subject of analysis and comparison between some media outlets, with Rolling Stones, in one article, framing the two women as "direct opposite of one another", stating, "Since their relationship took a dramatic end sometime in the 2010s, it is clear that one of them has quite moved on from the past and settled down with a stable, loving partner while the other is still stuck in the party limbo, even after all the years since then".
During an interview in 2016, in recounting the past years of cohabiting together with both Madonna and Dennis Rodman, Catherine described it as an "undoubtedly eventful and colourful period" but admitted that she has since looked back on it with some regret and skepticism, stating, "Back then, I was just very in touch with my wildest senses and was personally very into trying stuff that would be considered abnormal or unconventional by most people. Among others, getting both yourself and your own girlfriend pregnant by the same man was definitely something that I just look back on and now question whether it should have happened at all. Undoubtedly, not many people thought of ever doing that yet me and Madonna did it and it is certainly something that will remain forever etched in our minds no matter how hard we try to forget it".

Dennis Rodman
Having essentially raised Rodman without the latter's Dennis Rodman present, Catherine has since enjoyed a warm relationship with her son who currently plays as a point guard for the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association during which he won the championship a total of four times to date. In 2019, Rodman became engaged to the Las Vegas Aces point guard Kelsey Plum. In that same year, the couple welcomed a daughter Jane, thereby making Catherine a first-time grandmother at fifty. Then, in 2021, the couple welcomed another daughter Hailey.
Around 1994, while still in a romantic relationship with the American singer, Madonna, Catherine also pursued a separate simultaneous relationship with the former American basketball player, Dennis Rodman, whom she began dating after being introduced to the latter by none other than Madonna, a mutual friend of the two and whom was also said to be romantically involved with Dennis Rodman as well, thereby effectively creating a three-way relationship between themselves that, given the shared wild nature of all three of them, gained much notoriety and fame, with both Catherine and Madonna often being nicknamed "Rodman's Little Ladies", given their shared romantic interest in the former American professional basketball player and their otherwise extremely short stature compared to Dennis Rodman, whom stood at roughly 2.01 metres tall to Catherine and Madonna's 1.6 metre stature.

Madonna
Prior to her eventual marriage, among Catherine's best-known romantic relationships was the one with the American singer Madonna, a affair that was particularly the subject of much attention and controversy, most of which was due to Madonna's own provocative and controversial persona as a singer. In any case, the couple's relationship was said to have begun sometime in June 1989 when Catherine, while attending a local concert featuring Madonna in California, was granted the rare chance of meeting the American singer herself after much negotiation and persuasion with the latter's security detail. To that end, after a reportedly fruitful first encounter backstage, the couple soon began an initially discreet romantic relationship that was only known to their closest acquaintances.

In any case, the relationship, which initially began as a "semi-serious" affair, eventually reached a new high when after challenging both herself and partner, Madonna to an unconventional contest in which both women would attempt to have themselves impregnated by Dennis Rodman, then a mutual romantic partner of theirs, Catherine, in contrast to her otherwise unsuccessful female partner, later gave birth to a daughter, Charles. Consequently, the sudden and unexpected birth of her firstborn child prompted Catherine to temporarily halt her growing modeling career and instead move in together with Dennis Rodman so as to raise their only child together. However, amidst subsequent proposals that the two later officially marry, with Catherine herself, as a relatively unknown model concealing her true identity expected to use her would-be husband's name recognition to further her own career, after a year or so, the princess ultimately broke off the relationship, with Catherine herself assuming sole custody of her daughter before later transferring it to a close friend of hers, under whom the young Charles grew up throughout the subsequent years.
As the apparent love interest of the American singer, Catherine quickly became an integral member of Madonna's inner circle. To that end, when Madonna held the Blond Ambition World Tour the following year, Catherine followed the Madonna around to each of the fifty-seven stops that made up the concert tour. In this, despite being a relatively unknown figure at the time, photos of Catherine being eomantic with Madonna backstage and in other occasions soon brought her much notoriety as the apparent girlfriend of the American singer who, in the public eye, is known for her somewhat sexually expressive lyrics in her songs. However, despite the two being apparent romantic partners, their shared propensity for a wild and often uninhibited lifestyle meant that both Catherine and Madonna otherwise had other romantic partners on the side with those of Catherine including singer Mick Jagger and professional basketball player Dennis Rodman, both of whom went on to father a child by Catherine.

During an interview in 2019, in recollecting her past romance with the former basketball player, Catherine described Dennis Rodman as "a very wild and colourful guy, almost some sort of like my male equal", but stated that she felt that the latter was "more suitable as someone for you to have to just fool around with and have limitless fun with, not necessarily someone with who you can build a long-lasting family".
In the end, by around 1995, despite a seemingly unbreakable relationship, the couple began to gradually drift apart, reportedly after Catherine was introduced to the American actor Jodie Foster. Despite this, by the alleged behest of Catherine herself, Madonna was subsequently invited to perform at that year's inaugural Victoria's Secret Fashion Show during which Catherine herself gained much notoriety for briefly kissing the singer on the lips after walking to the end of the runway while Madonna herself was performing. Ultimately, by around the middle of 1996, reports claimed that the couple have officially parted ways with Catherine having apparently stopped accompanying Madonna to her various performances.

Jodie Foster
During a 2015 interview with The Guardian, almost two decades since her relationship with Madonna had reportedly come to an end, Catherine acknowledged her romance with the singer for the first time, stating that Madonna was her "first serious love" as an adult. In this, Catherine added that while she initially found Madonna "enigmatic" and "intriguing", a subsequent introduction to actress Jodie Foster, whom she later wedded, led her to re-evaluate her relationship with the singer whose many controversies surrounding from her many infamous acts were, after some time, deemed too much for Catherine herself to handle given her budding modeling career at the time. Nonetheless, despite their short-lived romance, Catherine has since come to regard Madonna in a fairly positive light.
In 2008, while attending the 80th Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, California, Catherine met and subsequently began a relationship with American actress, Jodie Foster, all while still remaining romantically linked to the American singer, Madonna, at the time. Initially, fears and concern over excessive media coverage should their relationship ever become publicised led the couple to treat their relationship with utmost secrecy, and therefore, the two women were rarely seen in public together. Nonetheless, the relationship itself quickly progressed, with Catherine, in contrast to her then-girlfriend, seeing the actress as a less controversial and reserved partner, while also perceiving the latter as her "mentor" in the acting industry, given her newcomer status in Hollywood at the time while Jodie Foster, by comparison, had begun her acting career starting in the 1970s, and was therefore considered a more senior figure in the industry, and whose expertise in the industry Catherine greatly sought as a newcomer actress at the time. Interestingly, in a later interview, Catherine likened Jodie Foster's initial role as a mentor to her in the acting industry to that of the singer, Madonna, being her so-called "big sister" during her early years in the United States, stating, "When I first came to the United States, I needed someone well-known but most importantly, someone who I could trust to help me when in need, and I found that in Madonna, now, when I was just getting started in the acting industry at the time, funnily enough, Jodie Foster was definitely my Madonna at the time, in that she was the well-known person that I needed and who I could trust to help me in need, which she absolutely did to the fullest".

Eventually, after several years of near secrecy, the couple was later married in a private ceremony in the Netherlands attended by both Catherine's and Jodie Foster's close friends and relatives, including the then-King Thomas, Catherine's own older brother. Reportedly, not long after the wedding concluded, it was said that King Thomas himself offered to make the American actress a duchess in honour of the couple's marriage, an offer which Jodie Foster herself personally refused before subsequently accepting a damehood instead, thereby officially becoming Dame Alicia Christian Foster. Interestingly, despite being born American, Jodie Foster, having acquired British citizenship prior to her marriage to the Princess Royal, was therefore allowed to use the relevant pre-nominal style of "Dame", as opposed to using the relevant post-nominal letters, an arrangement that remains strictly in use for a non-citizen of a Commonwealth of Nations country.
Jodie Foster
During the final years of her relationship with her then-girlfriend Madonna, Catherine was introduced by her older brother Thomas to the American actress Jodie Foster. In this, their first meeting was said to have taken place when Thomas, who starred together with Jodie Foster in Maverick (film), first befriended the American actress during filming and, in turn, felt that his younger sister, who shared a common interest in women as did Jodie Foster, would make a good romantic couple especially given Jodie Foster's comparably "clean" and "less controversial" image compared to Catherine's then-partner Madonna. However, Catherine herself later revealed that Thomas setting her up on a date with Jodie Foster was actually a way of repaying his younger sister's previous deed of having set him up with the American supermodel Christy Turlington whom he later ended up marrying.

Since then, the couple has together embarked on a number of philanthropic and social causes, while in regards to acting, Jodie Foster herself, in a 2015 interview, expressed her "huge interest" in personally directing her wife, which she later did so for the 2016 film, Money Monster, in which Catherine starred as a major character opposite George Clooney. The film itself, despite mixed reviews, proved to be a box office success, grossing over $93 million at the box office against a $27.4 million budget. Then, in a subsequent interview, Catherine herself described the process of filming the movie as "extremely fantastic" as well as "reasonably challenging", given the film's tense nature, while also praising Jodie Foster as a "great director", whom she said, "was not afraid to let someone know that something is wrong and ensure the highest quality and standards, even if that someone is her own wife".
In any case, after a reported first encounter at a New York (state) restaurant, despite Catherine herself already then being in a relationship, the two gradually became fond of each other with Catherine's interest in Jodie Foster largely cultivated by her older brother Thomas, a friend of the actress himself. Eventually, by around July 1996, at which point Catherine finally chose to part ways with Madonna, the couple officially began their relationship. However, given the scandal that resulted from Catherine's previous romance to Madonna, coupled with the prevailing societal attitude towards homosexuality at the time, the couple chose to keep their romance a close-knit secret that was only known to an extremely select few which included their closest friends and family members. In this, Catherine later added that her own parents, the liberal-minded late King Charles III and Lauren Bacall, were extremely supportive of the couple's relationship although Charles, for both his daughter's and the monarchy's sake, advised the two to keep their romance a close secret until their relationship would be more thoroughly accepted by society and thus be perceived as less controversial in the public eye.

On March 2018, the couple was photographed together on the US island state of Hawaii, where the two were said to have spent their tenth anniversary together in relative secrecy.
Eventually, on 1 January 2011, roughly six years after civil unions were first permitted in the United Kingdom via the Civil Partnership Act 2004, the couple was officially wedded in the form of a civil union, making it the very first time that the couple's relationship was ever made known to the public, a revelation that also generated some scandal for the British royal family which otherwise came out in full support of the couple. Later, on 1 January 2015, following the legalisation of same-sex marriage via the passage of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, the couple subsequently upgraded their civil union into an official marriage in an intimate ceremony at Oheka Castle in New York (state), United States, the dite where Catherine's siblings and parents had previously wedded.

Beginning in the early 1990s, under the pseudonym of Kate Joan, Catherine first rose to fame as a model for Victoria's Secret, becoming its first-ever British Victoria's Secret Angel in 1993. Over a decade-long career, she walked for various designers and brands including Vera Wang, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Prada, and Louis Vuitton, appeared on a variety of publications including Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Glamour, and notably holds the record with six cover appearances for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, surpassing Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson. Due to her ancestry, Catherine was often compared to fellow English model Kate Moss, with Karl Lagerfeld famously dubbing them "The Great Kates". By the turn of the century, she was one of the highest-paid models in the world and was dubbed by Anna Wintour to be the "quintessential English rose" with her slim build and high cheekbones being distinguishing features.

In 2005, Catherine retired from professional modeling in favour of an acting career, beginning with a role in Just Like Heaven. Following this, Catherine further starred in several films including The Holiday, 21, and Inglourious Basterds before properly establishing herself as a major star as the fictional English spy hero Kate Joan, a role that she portrayed across three films: Dangerous Entry, Dark Network, and Downfall. Following this, Catherine went on to appear in other films including Argo, Money Monster, Jason Bourne, Disobedience, Ocean's 8, and Knives Out.

With an estimated net worth of $47.5 billion via her shares in the multi-billion dollar holding company Atlantic Connection, Catherine is widely accepted to be the richest fashion model in the world and also the fourth richest woman in the world.

Personal Life

As per longstanding British royal customs, being the eldest and only daughter of the British monarch, in 1996, Catherine was given the title of Princess Royal by her father sometime after her great-aunt, who previously held the title, had passed away. Ironically enough, during her subsequent years as a model and later an actress in her own right, Catherine largely avoided using the title herself, preferring to instead be referred to by her own given name as opposed to simply being known as "the Princess Royal", a title that she once described as "fancy to have but not so pleasant to be known by especially in public".

However, unlike Moss, who represented a departure from the "traditional supermodel look", Catherine came to be perceived by many as a "continuation" of the so-called "traditional supermodel look". In this, owing to the two of them both being named Kate, a rivalry between them came to be popularly nicknamed as "Battle of the Kates". However, in a 2017 interview discussing the "rivalry", Catherine herself claimed that it was "manufactured by the industry and media", adding that she and Moss "got along well in general". Later on, Moss herself was in attendance at Catherine's 2011 wedding to actress Jodie Foster while Catherine is a godmother to her friend's daughter Lila Moss.

Mick Jagger

From 1988 to 1994, Catherine engaged in a romantic relationship with English singer and The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger who was said to be her first serious boyfriend. In this, reportedly out of general familiarity owing to their common English nationalities as well as Catherine's own high social standing as a member of the royal family, the Princess Royal first engaged in a discreet relationship with Jagger while the latter was then still in a relationship with his then-partner and English model Jerry Hall with whom he later parted ways after his relationship with the royal was discovered sometime afterward.

Over the course of their almost five-year-long romance, the couple had only one daughter, namely Georgia May Jagger. Around January 1994, an alleged refusal on the part of Jagger to officially enter into a state of marriage resulted in the couple officially parting ways with Catherine herself taking sole custody of their daughter.

Dennis Rodman

Around 1994, via her then-girlfriend and singer Madonna, Catherine became acquainted with the American professional basketball player Dennis Rodman who was then playing for the National Basketball Association's San Antonio Spurs. Not long after their first encounter, Catherine, having recently parted ways with English singer Mick Jagger, began a relationship with Rodman whose mutual attraction towards Madonna, Catherine's own girlfriend, resulted in them establishing a short-lived ménage à trois that famously led to both Catherine and Madonna being dubbed "Rodman's Little Ladies" given that Rodman largely towers over the two of them in height.

In that same year, the couple's affair reached a new high when as part of a spontaneous challenge in which both Catherine and Madonna attempted to have children by the basketball player, Rodman, promised by financial rewards, reportedly attempted to impregnate both women at the same time. In this, Rodman proved only moderately successful, having successfully fathered a son Corey by Catherine while otherwise failing to do so with Madonna. Consequently, for the next few months or so, Catherine lived together with Rodman as she raised their child together. However, the arrangement would prove short-lived as alleged issues of incompatibility and Catherine's own apparent inability to adapt to the unusual living circumstances led her to eventually leave the throuple altogether while also assuming full custody of their son together.

Undoubtedly, not many people thought of ever doing that yet me and Madge did it and it is certainly something that will remain forever etched in our minds no matter how hard we try to forget it".

Having essentially raised Rodman without the latter's father present, Catherine has since enjoyed a warm relationship with her son who currently plays as a point guard for the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association during which he won the championship a total of four times to date.

As the apparent love interest of the American singer, Catherine quickly became an integral member of Madonna's inner circle. To that end, when Madonna held the Blond Ambition World Tour the following year, Catherine followed the singer around to each of the fifty-seven stops that made up the concert tour.

Jodie Foster

During the final years of her relationship with her then-girlfriend Madonna, Catherine was introduced by her older brother Thomas to the American actress Jodie Foster. In this, their first meeting was said to have taken place when Thomas, who starred together with Foster in Maverick, first befriended the American actress during filming and, in turn, felt that his younger sister, who shared a common interest in women as did Foster, would make a good romantic couple especially given Foster's comparably "clean" and "less controversial" image compared to Catherine's then-partner Madonna. However, Catherine herself later revealed that Thomas setting her up on a date with Jodie Foster was actually a way of repaying his younger sister's previous deed of having set him up with the American supermodel Christy Turlington whom he later ended up marrying.

In any case, after a reported first encounter at a New York restaurant, despite Catherine herself already then being in a relationship, the two gradually became fond of each other with Catherine's interest in Foster largely cultivated by her older brother Thomas, a friend of the actress himself. In this, Catherine later added that her own parents, the liberal-minded late King Charles III and Queen Lauren, were extremely supportive of the couple's relationship although Charles, for both his daughter's and the monarchy's sake, advised the two to keep their romance a close secret until their relationship would be more thoroughly accepted by society and thus be perceived as less controversial in the public eye.

Later, on 1 January 2015, following the legalisation of same-sex marriage via the passage of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, the couple subsequently upgraded their civil union into an official marriage in an intimate ceremony at Oheka Castle in New York, United States, the dite where Catherine's siblings and parents had previously wedded.
