History

Modern history

1936-1939

After the Treaty of Falmata which gave Pantsville independence, the new nation tried to establish its first government. They decided to host the elections the following April and in the time being ministers were appointed, ranging from various political party members to former government members of The Colony, David Seymor would act as head of state until the election during this time the Constitution was also drafted and signed. Right after Independence employment rates instantly skyrocketed and production went back to normal however the pencil was unable to benefit from this new surge as many of the materials were still being used for the remaining Hansan war effort. On April 1st, 1937 the first Pantsvillean elections were held, and sitting leader David Seymor would become Pantsville's first president. Along with that, the legislative and Judiciary branches would be filled. When the Great War came to a close in 1939 Hansan troops would be removed and the trade deals would be broken this was seen as a positive two pantsville for the following year but then economic depression struck

1940s

Due to the global situation after the Great War and economic depression all over the world fell. Pantsville was struck hard as they had almost nothing to rely on for financial aid. The government would try its best to help soften inflation and tackle the soaring unemployment rates. Despite the effort it did very little and nothing seemed to be going up. In April 1942 the second presidential elections were held and despite the turmoil, Seymor would win a second term. 2 months later the nation of Deims Kir Invited the nation to found the magnetarian economic Community or the MEC. With support from the MEC and increased funding, Pantsvile was able to slowly charge out of the economic depression. From this, Pantsville continued to further industrialize from its starting point during the Great War. Before the 1940s Pantsville had a minimal amount of industrial bases outside of cities like Falmata and Temfall, so there was next to no industrialization outside of railroads and small factories. One of the major starting points for industrialization was the automobile industry Gelene Motors and Alcam Holdings Were both of the major automobile Industries in Pantsville at the time. After that more and more industrial companies are to pop up, most dealing with manufacturing. This included Machinery, textiles, and Chemicals. In 1947 The third presidential election was held Seymor could not run due to the Constitution stating that a president could not serve more than two terms so the election was held between a conservative Josiah Mikindo and a leader from the Socialist Party Johan Pachina. Mikindo would win And promised to bring economic growth to the nation. That same year Pantsville saw what would be named The Great Monsoon. It was an extended Monsoon that saw heavy amounts of rain and mainly affected major Monsoon areas as the monsoon over a lot of fertile lands it was left over and the farming community thrived off of the new land. Pantsville sought to industrialize its Nation once it had the opportunity to and that opportunity had just struck.

1950s

The 50s saw continued vast expansion in the economy, with industrialization spreading further outside of cities, and trade ramping up between various nations, with markets for industrial goods. Outside of the economy, many cultural changes started appearing at this time. In music Classical rock and classical pop became very Popular genres of music due to lots of influence from other places. Around this time Pantsville started taking out a lot of loans to help expand its infrastructure including starting a highway system to help people travel with its growing automotive industry and to grow out its cities which were becoming industrial hubs. The nation reformed its education system and Expanded its tertiary education programs. In 1952 Democratic politician Bert Ankeren beat Mikendo in his re-election campaign. At this time Nation also started to expand on its opportunity and tourism decided to take advantage of its natural beauty and began advertising and working on tourism. Due to this the national park system was creative in pantsville and protected many areas which are now common tourist sites. Dental worked with other nations to import oil and gas and started using biogases like ethanol. In 1953 the Pantsvillean Premier League was created as its first professional League. Football was very popular in the nation at the time and so funding went into creating the league and it was broadcasted across radios, stadiums were built and teams were centered around major population centers That had a football market. And 1954 the Pantsvillean immigration committee Was created which sought to bring workers into the workforce. In 1957 Ankeren Would win his reelection and would continue his works. Although industrialization had been mostly good for the country worker conditions in most factories were less than decent, this would lead to the rise of unions In the late 1950s

1960s

The '60s Marked a very prosperous time for Pantsville due to the transition to manufacturing and industrial production, and the growth in culture, infrastructure, and Social Services. The nation of them and tourism brought in a lot of money, especially in the year when Islands entrepreneurs would buy land and rent out property this helped turn the Yuran Islands into the most wealthy Province even surpassing the industrial hubs in Rutinia and Ralleigh.1962 Frederick Murphy won the Presidential election that year becoming the only member of the Socialist Party to ever win an election. With economic growth and stability assured and Murfy's side to improve worker rights and approve of more help to the disadvantaged. 1964 the Worker Protection Act was passed setting a limit on no more than 60 hours for work week minimum wage equal to 1 USD an hour. He created the CRSA corporation regulation and safety administration, and ensured corporations would pay for company-caused accidents. The same year the Disadvantaged Economic and Financial Aid Act was passed. it would increase welfare for those in poverty and would offer reduced-price insurance in various cases. And 1965, the Reform Taxation Act was passed and gave lower taxation to the middle and lower classes but increased Taxes on the Upper classes, land, and marginally on corporations. The 60s were also riddled with the civil rights movement from the urban native population. a 1966 Native Act was passed which incurred the same rights as white pantvilleans in all provinces. Murphy would have most likely wanted a reelection but he died in office in early 1967. 1967 Democratic politician Albert Raten Was elected president. He was more of a moderate compared to Murfy, but he would continue much work to increase regulation. He passed the Free and Fair Competition Act which Limited monopolies and put antitrust laws in place. The 60s were another good year for culture Cinema and the entertainment industry grew dramatically in the late sixties. The nation began to separate itself embracing different aspects of culture outside of the predominantly Hansan one.

1970s

The 1970s started as a continuation of the previous decade in 1972 Albert Raten was re-elected as president Just in time for a major economic crash in pantsville. It was caused due to corporate economic changes, and poor fiscal management of government. The crash also led the government to run short on fuel from gas imports, in desperation the government began to use its immense agricultural surplus. Using it they began creating biofuels, mostly ethanol to make up for gas loss. The economy had mostly stabilized by 1975 but the growth of the earlier decades had stopped. In 1977 due to the economic conditions, the pantsvillean government sought to join the AMA, with a favourable opinion of the Singaphala Bisaya Republic in the nation the public heavily supported the nation entering the association. Almost immediately Pantsville began to strike up deals with various members inside the AMA, most of which involved the selling of various manufactured goods, this allowed for the economy to get back on track by the '80s. Also, in 1977 conservative politician Brandon Dalman won the election promising to bring better economic prosperity to pantsville.

1980s

The 80s began as a period of recovery from the economic depression of the 1970s. Under the leadership of Dalmon, the government implemented measures to support the economy, with a particular focus on lowering taxes for both corporations and the general public. However, this approach drew criticism from liberals who argued for a more active government role in improving the overall quality of life for Pantsvilleans. The conservatives also kickstarted the growth of the Pantsville Military, leading to the military size increasing by around 25,000 during the 1980s, reflecting strong defense priorities. Despite the economic stabilization, wages and the quality of living for many citizens stagnated at pre-recession levels, prompting ongoing concerns about social and economic inequality. Nevertheless, Dalmon managed to secure re-election in 1982, demonstrating a degree of political support for his administration's policies. However, his term was cut short when he faced impeachment in 1984 on allegations of laundering federal money. This led to Vice President Bill Rutger to become the president. Rutger, a more favorably viewed politician among colleagues and conservative voters, continued many of Dalmon's established initiatives. His popularity translated into electoral success in 1987, winning his election. Wanting military support, in 1988 Pantsville expressed its intent to join the International Democratic Alliance (IDA). Towards the end of the decade, Pantsville experienced a significant influx of migrants from various countries. In response, the government decided to tighten immigration laws.

1990s

The Conservative wave of the 80s continued into the 90s, with Conservatives dominating politics. But the conservatives continued to get more cocky with their policies. During the 1992, the conservatives ran a more radical politician, Kennie Sinkle, Sinkle enacted a new plan for government which significantly lowered government spending. The plan failed horribly and Pantsville was on the verge of recession, in order to mitigate the effects, A new deal was passed for an economic stimulus, it was vetoed by Sinkle, but passed through congress a second time, making it a law. Sinkle failed to win relection in 1997, due to his poor management of the economy, where he was replaced by Jan Murdock. Murdock was the first democratic president in 20 years, and marked the end of the conservative domination of politics. Murdock would begin a roll out of economic reforms, which revitalized the economy, by funding various programs, and improving welfare, and support for poorer areas. Murdock would also reshape the democratic party, adopting more intervensionist policies in order to gain more cooperation with conservative politicians. In 1999 Murdock had an approval rating on 96% the highest of any president ever in history, which posed threats to conservatives, so the conservatives also pushed for a more moderate position amongst the politics, forming the modern age of politics in pantsville.
