The Commonwealth of Brassdale is a Silverdalean territory within the Northern Hemisphere of the Pony Lands. It is the site of a once grand Golden Herdite Colony in the long distant past but vanished after being the epicenter of a vile dragon attack. Since then, it became a monster-ridden landscape of draconic beings and monsters that plague the landscape that brought a dark age. It became a part of Silverdale in 1642 after a group of penguins settled down on the coastline and a pact with the local Dragon Lord Vuper and Enda.
Since then it became focused as a settler colony and later admitted to become various states in the union. One of the recent tragedies was the Scouring of Rax which caused numerous damage in the midst of the 2000s.
History
Ancient Days
The land that was Ancient Brassdale was dotted with remnants of old civilizations. What was reconstructed was a series of river based kingdoms that ruled over the land for several millennia. This dynastic passage of realms was by the conquest of the Golden Herd to establish provincial rule over the land. It all abruptly collapsed when the Great Ruin occurred as it was recorded as the epicenter of a great dragon, and other theories proclaim a series of supernatural monster attacks.
Foundation of the Colony
Since the Great Ruin, the desert expanded to remove once lush green prairies into sandy dunes and dry lands. Ancient cities were abandoned or destroyed, and left to be swelled up by the sands. All as monsters and sinister draconic entities roam the land to become near impossible for new nations to emerge. Ponies who survived this drastic lifestyle took a nomadic life across the deserts, and built villages in isolated oasis and river banks.
Unknown explorers and pioneers attempted to establish trade outposts and settlements over the years, but were wiped away by sheer hostility of the land. A fate would have been similar to the crew of Mercury that attempted to settle down in a ruined port, but was assaulted by a dragon that burnt down their ship. An expedition to survive, the crew led by Monica met the half dragonesses, and made an alliance for them to overthrow a monstrous dragon being. When the Dragon Lord was defeated in 1642, a colony was formed under Silverdale.
The Renaissance
A period known as the Renaissance of Indigenous Lore, or the renaissance, is the discovery of long lost ruins to doses of ‘knowledge’, from the Roleystone and the ‘Eye of Lapis' by bands of expedition archaeology by the population as a whole after countless unexplained visions across the region as a whole. Accounts of this tale are unknown to be precise, although a popular legend is that one group of ponies descended in a long lost pyramid and returned after they ‘sealed off a cursive pharaoh’ with commandments by the River Lady to rebuild an ancient city. What is known was an unexpected attack of undead at Port Alexy which was barely fledged off.
The hub of the renaissance was built in Luxios as long passed architectural and contemporary techniques were used to build the largest city of Southern Borealis. Alongside this was the Royal Union and passing of law between a prominent member of the ‘X family’ and House Winter to establish an equal union.
Compoterary Times
After the great calamities across Borealis and civilizations became molten wastelands, Silverdale placed a special interest in the region as ‘the Safe Haven for all those lost to come.’ A region now open for flocks of refugees to arrive after the terrors of destruction. This however, left a strain within a delicate balance of the existing populace.
Geography
Brassdale is mainly a desert across the mainland and numerous badlands. It is known for its extreme aridities with sand dune seas, to rocky landscapes. These deserts reach down to the coastline itself, with pockets of grand greeny redwood, the famed ‘ice pocket’, and grasslands are given life by the river deltas and low highlands. The vast majority of people dwell within the main river of Solari, Mako River in the west, Cevalo River in the east, the coastline, the great lake of Sol, and a number of oases.
Magical biomes that defy nature are present in Brasadale. The Ice Pocket is a strange ‘ice dragon made’ creation with a number of ice spirits that made a small habitable taiga and polar bubble on the western island of the coastline. It is known as ‘little Silverdale’ given the forests and dune protection way stones. At the tip of the southern Western Wall are a number of volcanoes, snow peak mountains, dry desert pockets, and a few alpine forest mountains (due to magical weather manipulation).
Demographics
Brassdale’s population is about 20 million in total, with the vast majority of 60% ponies. It is followed by 14% being humans, 12% beastlings, 10% elvenkind, 4% dragons, and 1% of numerous other creatures.
