RanksRanks of Drambenburgian Luftwaffe

The Luftwaffe is one of the four branches of the Wehrmacht of Drambenburg. It serves as the primary arial defense force of Drambenburg. The primary mission of the Luftwaffe in the 21st century is to provide air superiority in regions that the Drambenburgian armed forces are deployed. The Luftwaffe is one of the world's most advanced air forces. With 280,000 active personel and 100,000 reserve, the Luftwaffe is the smallest of the four branches of the Wehrmacht.

The Luftwaffe's origins lie with the visionary strategy of Drambenburgian military commanders in the early 1870s, who foresaw the value of lighter-than air flight on the battlefield. With the invention of heavier-than-air manned flight in the 1910s, Drambenburg saw a use for the vehicles tactically, and started the Army Aviator School in 1917, which developed into the Luftwaffe in the late 1930s.

The Luftwaffe is under the Ministry of the Luftwaffe. The head of the Luftwaffe is the Kaiser, and the head of the Ministry of the Luftwaffe is the civilian Minister of the Luftwaffe, Rudolf Weiss. The Ministry of the Luftwaffe itself is a sub-ministry of the Ministry of Defense, headed jointly by the Khakus and the Kaiser. Lieutenant General is the highest ranking officer in the Luftwaffe.
