Chaburteen II (Gollic: Chârles le tier; Modern Heldervinian: Karl de Groß; 14 August 1192–7 December 1255), also called Chaburteen the Last, was King of the Helds from 1237 until his death in 1255.

In the 1250s his four sons, Chaburteen III, Lüdwig I, Volker I, and Korbinian I tore the kingdom apart over succession. Though he built Helderia to become the magnum imperium of its time, his reign is largely overshadowed by the chaos that ensued following his death.

Name

During Chaburteen's reign, several languages were spoken by Helderia, and he was known to Helderians as Charles in the Gollic language and Karl to Old Heldervinian speakers. The name Chaburteen, as the king and his successors of the same name are most commonly known in English, comes from the Gollic Charles-le-tier (Charles the Peaceful). In Modern Heldervinian, he is known as Karl de Groß.

Chaburteen was named after his grandfather Karl I.

Birth

Chaburteen was the first child of Gereanne II and her husband, Wolfram Steube. Chaburteen was born on 14 August 1192 in Marksville.
