The California Soccer League (CSL) is a Californian soccer league and the highest level of the New California soccer league system. It is one of New California's big five major leagues, comprising 22 clubs within a single, unitary conference. The CSL carried over four clubs from Major League Soccer (MLS), but unlike its predecessor, the CSL employs a relegation and promortion system similar to those in Europe.

The CSL was founded in 2033, but did not begin play until the next year. Each following season saw the inclusion of more clubs from across the country, subsequently developing more relegation leagues, eventually stopping with the Vinyard League. Several groups of clubs not in the New California soccer league system have developed local leagues, such as the Sandstorm Association, a soccer league for clubs in the Mojave Desert, which has led to the possibility of there being a 6th tier of soccer clubs. The last four clubs promoted to the CSL were San Rafael USC, Tulare United, Hayward United, and Eureka FC. The youngest club in the CSL is the Leónes de Monterey.

The CSL operates on a round-robin 84-game season beginning around early April and ending in September (excluding the playoffs). Because of this, the season is split into quarters, in which every club plays each of the others, and after which a 10-day break takes place. The top six clubs advance to the playoffs after the regular season has ended, the 10-day break expanding to 15 days. The two-round tournament culminates with the California Cup series, the winner of which competes in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. The LA Galaxy have won the most cups with 4, and San Diego FC are the most recent champions, having defeated the San Jose Earthquakes to win their second title in five years.

The CSL is the fourth-largest professional sports league in New California by revenue, behind the Pacific Basketball League. Soccer games are broadcast through television, radio, and the internet in New California and some parts of Willamette and Mexico. The CSL has the sixth-highest annual attendance of any professional sports league on the West Coast, averaging at around 20.4 million annual spectators, trailing the Willamette Football League.

Clubs are relegated to the San Andreas League (SAL), which was formed in 2034. The New California Soccer Association (NCSA) oversees all tiers of Californian soccer, including the California Winter Soccer League (CWSL).
