The United Kingdom Police Force, abbreviated as UKPF, is the umbrella organisation and directorate comprising the United Kingdom's four national police forces: Police England and Wales, Police Scotland, Police Hanover, and Garda Síochána. Established in 1999 as the United Kingdom's national police force, it is headquartered at Scotland Yard and is led by the Chief Police Commissioner of the United Kingdom, currently Sir Mark Rowley.
Established by the Police Reform Act 1999, the UKPF mainly serves to coordinate the activities and response between the United Kingdom's four national police forces. Originally consisting of just three agencies, a fourth agency was added when Police Scotland was formed in 2013. Since its inception, the UKPF has been presided over by the Chief Police Commissioner of the United Kingdom who advises the Home Secretary while also coordinating efforts between the chief constables of the four national police forces.
