The 2048 Californian primary election was the 5th quadrennial primary election in New California. It occured on May 3, 2048. Candidates ran under a nonpartisan blanket primary, with the two candidates who received the most votes moving on to the runoff election in November. Theodore Hendricks and Susan Nicholas were the top performers, Hendricks receiving a massive 41% of the popular vote. Nicholas nearly edged out Mike Faucher, winning by less than one percentage point. This was the third time in a row that no ideologically right-wing party advanced to the presidential election in November.
