Isabela Santos (February 27, 2055-April 23, 2148), was a Cárinansian politician, surgeon, and mathematician, who served as the 14th President of Carinansia.
Early life and education
Family
Isabela Santos was born on February 27, 2055, at the Grargos General Hospital in Divilia, Ávigena, Carinansia. She was the third child of Roberto Santos de Guzman and María Santos Pereira, who were in the state on holiday. She was raised in Matagoza, Embardoro until she was 15 years old, after which time she attended Epirata High School in Reydacay, Mangulak. Her maternal grandfather, Carlos Zanetti Fernandez, was an infantry soldier for the Republic of Valora. He was captured by the Serene Army during the Battle of Moliropa, and remained in a prisoner of war work camp in the Altiplano until the end of hostilities. Her father was a veteran of the invasion of Wexford and Kangsu, and became prominent consumer goods production businessman in Matagoza, Embardoro. Santos has predominantly Spanic roots, but also some La Plata indigenous roots, Natik indigenous roots, and distant Arcadian ancestry.
Early life
Education
In 2074, she was accepted to a dual program at the Revolutionary College of Oligi and the National Bendai University in Aurelia, studying a Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics respectively. In 2078, she received a five year contract from NBU to work as a mathematics researcher in Aurelia. During this time, she worked primarily in applied mathematicals models on biological systems. In 2084, she began a Master of Surgery at the RCO. Upon graduating in 2089, she became a surgical resident at the Hacieda Health Complex.
Career
She worked as a surgical resident at the centre for seven years. In 2097, she became a fully qualified cardiothoracic surgeon with a specialization in minimally invasive heart surgery and robotic-assisted procedures. Her innovations in these areas helped to reduce recovery times and improve surgical outcomes, especially in high-risk patients.
One of her most celebrated mathematical achievements was her development of an algorithmic approach to optimize the timing and coordination of surgical interventions, the final design of which was revealed in February 2105. This model significantly reduced the likelihood of surgical complications and influenced global best practices in cardiothoracic surgery. Her unique approach, integrating mathematical probability with real-time data, became known as the "Santos Method," and it remains widely used in medical education and hospitals around the world.
