Sloughttopian Royal Period

The Sloughttopian Royal Period was a forgotten period in Sloughttopia's history that occurred from 1700 after the end of BWI to 1907. This period was when Sloughttopia or Slutubya at the time, was in a non-democratic hierarchical society. The island was not yet unified into one nation, while also officially being a part of Floptropica. This period is also known as the Jindstadt Period becuase the strongest and most influential family during this period was the Jindstadt family. Even the royal family had less social and political power than the Jindstadt family, acting as puppets towards them. The cultures, religions, dialects, etc. were all very different from what they are now and what they have ever been before. All known records of this period though, were destroyed by Daboyz to cover up the existence of a society more powerful than them and Floptropica at the time.

The Beginning

Batoseiland won BWI but was still left destroyed, which caused it to break up into Floptropica, Daboyz, Sportsia, Vinia, and many other micronations. The island of Slutubya was a part of Floptropica at the time, which was in social, political, and physical dismay. Too busy to worry about their largest island territory, Floptropica was figuring out how to rebuild the mainland. This left the island without much supervision and they started culturally, socially, and politically separating from Flops on the mainland.

Floptropica's founding mothers democratically led the country until about 1803, when Floptropica adapted a democratic society, modeled after the United States. The Island of Slutubya on the other hand had a major power struggle for 15 years until on August 19, 1715, when the Akan Royal family, lead by King Kaleman Akan took control over the country. There was one issue though, the Akan family only narrowly had success in becoming the royal family. Their major rival was the Jindstadt family, who were much more influential, but knew less about how to manage a government. While the royal family made rules and laws and lived lavishly, the Jindstadt family was less fortunate but could decide whether people should follow the rules set by the royal family. Neither the Jindstadt or Akan families were recognized by the Floptropican government in the slightest.

Culture

Language

At the beginning of the Jindstadt Period, most citizens spoke English primarily in an attempt to do better economically due to the rest of Floptropica speaking english. As time went on though, the 3 main ethnic groups broke into 3 languages. The Arabs and Somalis mostly spoke Arabic, French spoke French, and the Flops spoke and early version of Salatubyah called Sud-Aroman. An issue that Sloughttopia still deals with was misunderstanding of languages. Since each spoken language was very from from the next, citizens had a hard time understanding people from ethnic groups and this caused for intermingling between ethnic groups to be rare.

Clothing

Clothing in during the Royal Period was an important display of one's identity. Similar to crests, symbals, and family heirlooms, every detail of one's clothes, down to the pattern on the collar respresented one thing about the wearer. This meant most clothes were created specially for the intended wearer.

The color and pattern of the clothing represented ethnicity. For example, Arabs mostly wore brown, red, white, and gold with more simple patterns or ones of objects or flora, the French mostly wore blue and white with decadent designs, and the Flops wore brighter colors without many patterns. Some families of great importance also put a specific design somewhere on the collar of the clothing.

Men wore different types of robes, thobes, imcae', with a pair of silk or cotton pants while Women wore dresses of various design that were usually wrist to writs, neck to ankle but sometimes were sleeveless or stopped below the knees.

Food

In royal Slutubya, food was seen as more of a necessity than culture but people mostly at stuffed bread items like sambuusa, dumplings, and even filled pastries but chicken and noodle dishes were also very popular. Even then, people ate less pork due to unavailability and unimportance even though almost half the population followed another (or no) religion than Islam.

The End

Unfortunately, Sloughttopian royal society was at it's peak towards it's end, due to BWII. After just 3 years, the entire integrity of royal Sloughttopian society was destroyed and the land was near destitute. Daboyz had started it's 70 year long occupation of the island, which started the Western Occupational Period.
