The 2008 Delamarian presidential election was held on December 2nd 2008. The United Party nominee, Former Senator and Secretary of Defence Herbert Walker-Busch, won in a landslide, defeating incumbent President Gerard Severnson, a member of the Social Labour party with support of the Liberal party.

Liberal Party

The Liberal Party was highly divided over whether to support President Severnson's ticket. Four votes were held at the Liberal Party, three rejecting the endorsement of the ticket, with the last vote accepting the endorsement, after rules were changed surrounding Superdelegates' voting powers.
