The Scho-5 Class is a Janpian steam locomotive in 4-6-2 arrangement designed by Ischuju Hasahari, and built by the Scho-Gusan Heavy Industries (Now owned by the JaRail Workers' Union). It was built from 1913 to 1940 from the Scho-Gusan Heavy Industries, where it operated in various railway lines in Janpia, as well as in some various Janpian colonies such as Polavosch or Unschon Islands. Production halted in 1940 due to the civil war, and it only continued after the war under the Party-run JaRail Workers' Union. During its service, the trains were popularly known as the Workhorse, as well as the "Usori Gijoschei" (Smoking Lady). Production and its service continued until 1976, and has since been retired from main service duties in both cargo or passenger roles, as part of the Party's railway modernization plans. It is still sometimes used on limited express lines, or sightseeing lines which were formerly defunct or abandoned lines.
