The '''Winter Insurrection''' ({{wpl|Finnish}}: Talven kapina), also known as the Winter Rising and The Crisis, was an armed rebellion in Talvistova during the winter of 1933 and into early 1934. The insurrection was launched by a united anti-monarchy alliance made up of the Talvistovan Republican Front and the Communist Party of Talvistova, as well as the historically oppressed Vuori tribe, to bring an end to the monarchy and bring forth a united Talvistovan Democracy. It was the most significant domestic conflict since the original war of succession of 1849, and was the beginning of the TRF Situation, which continues until today. |
