The 2017 Noon Federal Election was the 5th biannual election (30th in total), which resulted in record voting turnout and a landslide victory for Steven Rilo.[1] Rilo and John Edwards won at 83%, which was a record high for the Liberal Party since 1998. Edwards later succeeded to the presidency after Steven Rilo was assassinated in December the next year.[2][3] Rilo and Graton had a close race until a scandal came out about Graton in July.[1][4] Communist representative Bob Fulkerson was kicked from the Noon Senate shortly after the election for election fraud.[5]
Background
After Ben Franklin's five-term presidency was coming to an end, Rilo and Edwards were planning to win the vote, but it was hard to win the primary election.[6] The presidency was anyone's race at this point, since a lot of people did not know anything about all five of the candidates,[7] and Steven Rilo was relatively young.
Debates
Normally there are three debates each election year, one held in Salabrachon, Gomona City, and Conakija.
