location
Venue
The contest took place in the Yggdrasil Arena in Owidal. Hellona was chosen as the first host, because the Hellonian Broadcaster and Ministry of Culture both donated and contributed a lot to the founding of the contest. The Yggdrasil Arena has a capacity of approximately 15,000 attendees, and is one of the biggest in Hellona.
Melody Square
The surrounding area of the Yggdrasil Arena was prepared to be house the arists during the Melody Week, with special appartments for both press and artists. The square, previousily called Asgaarderpleim, was renamed to Melody Square during the event and after the contest it was to be called the Melodieplein, a translation of Melody Square.
Street musicians were encouraged to come play at the square, without the need for permits, which are usually needed in Owidal. Other artists were allowed to hold expositions in the many buildings and venues.
