A drawing of two Tashuurin in the Later Tao PEriod

The Tashuurin (තස්හුඋරින්) were a form of military administrators and law enforcement officials which were a prominent part of the Uluuchig Confederacy, but also served in various capacities in later governments. The Tashuurin were uniformly Avakhjadin. Their organization was formed by Shuugian as a reward for his loyal veterans and their progeny. They collected taxes and tributes, dispensed corporal punishments without oversight, and enforced the monarch's distribution of pasture land. While they were independent law enforcers, they were not allowed to levy fines, make arrests, or execute anyone. Their power was mostly limited to the moment of infraction and they originally completely distinct from investigations and research, which required special assent from the khan.

Under the yellow robes and the Khyalbar Khanate they were ostracized as much as possible. Their official powers were greatly curtailed, but their wealth accumulated in herds and in the fortifications that Ludian Khan gave to them in Sarmin period. They were given new authority under the Korshid Khaganate, this time as censors who oversaw other officials within the empire.
