Foreign Relations of Altenland

Altenland's foreign relations are managed by the Reich Foreign Ministry, with the Fuhrer of Altenland having a major role in decisions made by the Foreign Ministry. Altenland focuses in diplomacy are realpolitik-aligned, with Altenland focusing on a "Altish-first" policy and strengthing Altenland at all costs.

Template:Country data Auvernian Federation	The Valkist goverment of Altenland has strong relations with the National Syndicalist goverment of Auvernia. Both nations have strong trade agreements. Many members of the current goverment of Altenland are veterans from the Great War and seek to avoid war with Auvernia, with the exception of the Eigenstandigkeit, who in general promote war and believe that Altenland should retake territories "stolen" by Auverania.
Template:Country data Gweryn	Altenland does not extend diplomatic recognition to Gweryn and repeatly has conducted military exercises at the Gweryn-Altische border. Altische troops during these excercises regulary enter Gweryn territory and artillery crews are ordered to train by shelling Gweryn from the Altish side of the border. Altenland does not consider these acts to be declarations of war as it does regonize Gweryn as a state. A diplomatic incident was caused on November 14th, 1934 when a Altish bomber wing accidently veered off course and began bombing a small village in southern Gweryn. Altenland refuses to even recognize the incident while Gweryn contents that the bombing was intentional.
Template:Country data Volkhov	Altenland and Volkhov tolerate eachother enough to maintain trade, but otherwise have a cold diplomatic relationship with eachother. Both states avoid posting troops on their mutual borders.
Template:Country data Hercynia	As with Gweryn, Altenland does not extend diplomatic recognition with Hercynia and has established heavy fortfications on the Hercynian border. During a incident on June 21st, 1930, Altenland troops began shelling the Hercynian border. The shelling was responded to with Hercynian artillery bombing the Altish border in return. After the incident, Altenland does not perform military excercises involving artillery on or near the Hercynian border. Despite this, many troops are posted at the Hercynian border, manning the heavy fortifications.
Template:Country data United Provinces	Altenland and the United Provinces maintain a trade relationship, but otherwise do not interact. Altenland has attempted to take a comprimising tone to recent negoiations with the United Provinces.
Template:Country data Holy Aventine Empire	Altenland maintains a hostile relationship with the SIA, it's main rival on the Cybellum continent. Both nations, however, do not share a border, with both being seperated from eachother from Hercynia. Fuhrer Franz Neumann regulary mentions the SIA in his speeches, decrying it for it's theocratic goverment and lack of industrial and social advancement.
