The term ''Zhynoro'' derives from the {{wpl|Greek_language|Thessalian}} term σύνορο (''sýnoro'') meaning frontier, and was originally used as an exonym for the lands by the Oriental Sea occupied by Slavic tribes. With the westward migration of various Turanic tribes in the middle-ages, the term's use was extended by the native [[Republic_of_Thessalia|Thessalians]] to refer to all land inhabited by foreigners to the east of the Aemon Mountains. The term would eventually disappear from the historic record in the 15th Century with the gradual conquest of the Aemon peninsula. Zynoro (Eskitanian, Konbati: Жиноро, Zhinoro), officially the Federal Workers' Republic of Zhynoro is a sovereign state located in Southeast Estere in the eastern Aemon Peninsula on the planet of Eordus. It borders Gautland to the northeast. The capital and largest city is Zamŭen, which also serves as the capital of the largest of its constituent states, the Worker's Republic of Eskitania. Other major urban areas include Mariagrad, Yuzhdiv and Tukayevsky.

Etymology

The term Zhynoro derives from the Thessalian term σύνορο (sýnoro) meaning frontier, and was originally used as an exonym for the lands by the Oriental Sea occupied by Slavic tribes. With the westward migration of various Turanic tribes in the middle-ages, the term's use was extended by the native Thessalians to refer to all land inhabited by foreigners to the east of the Aemon Mountains. The term would eventually disappear from the historic record in the 15th Century with the gradual conquest of the Aemon peninsula. Use of Zhynoro saw a resurgence during the nationalistic revolutions of the late 19th century, where the term was re-adopted by irredentist and seperatist movements in order to include both the Turanic and Slavic ethnic groups of the region.
