The Emperor of Hellenic Empire, more commonly referred to as the Tarsan Emperor is the absolute monarch of Tarsas. The current monarch, Romulus X, inherited the throne upon the death of his father, Marcus II, in 2001. The Imperial Throne dates back to 954 when it was established in the wake of the withdrawal of the Latin Empire. The office has endured for over a thousand years but the current ruler is not descended from the first emperor, as the throne has changed ruling families many times. The office is legally backed by paths of realty from all the Tarsan noble houses and possess total control executive and legislative power.

Legally, the title or Imperial Family is bestowed upon the Emperor, his wife, his children, his brothers and sisters, their spouses and children, his aunts and uncles, and their spouses and children. A family on the throne also inherits the aftokratorikó káthisma, or the Imperial Seat, which is the main province that contains the capital. The title of the “Imperial Household” is granted to all those who are directly considered a member of the emperor’s family, or peerage.
