Shu Language (Lijiangite: 鼠語, Virtkhis Ena) is a logographic writing system that has been formally employed by the Lijiangese Settlements on Calagains to write using Lijiangite Characters with Akannite phonology. It uses a modern set of Lijiangite Characters in order to represent full ideas and vocabulary in Akannite language. Older characters that lack meaning have mainly been repurposed for other characters.

After the end of the Lijiang-Akannite War, the Lijiangite civilians that had moved on the planet of Calagains during the Campaign of Calagains were not offered evacuation from the planet, leaving over 72 million Lijiangite civilians on the planet. A year after the end of the war, the Calagainian Collaborative Agreement 15 was passed defining basic Foreign Rights with the Akannite Confederation. At the end of the war, the majority of Lijiangites settled in Ozuriani and Arshusha City en masse. As the only non-Akannite race living within the Confederation, Lijiang rights are near on par in an effort to simmer wartime tensions between Akannites and Lijiangites.

Shu Language was created by several Lijiangite linguists led by Jiang Lengan, in an effort to integrate Akannite language while keeping certain cultural aspects. As a result, Shu Language uses similar grammar to Akannite and the same phonology and meaning as Akannite, but uses a completely different writing system.

Etymology

The Lijiangite character 鼠 is meant to represent the shu, to which was remarked to have been resemblent of the Akannites in facial appearance.
