A heavily religious nation knowledge has become a form of currency to them, trading food, goods, and housing for stories of passing communities travels. Although a legitimate method using secrets as currency is only for desperate times typically, as those willing to give up a sacrifice of knowledge to their goddess are seen as lesser than those who would barter, pay, or lay hope in the kindness of a brother.
It has been recognized as a felony to tell lies punishable by tooth removal. As one tells more and more lies, they will find themselves in the predicament of not being able to pass on verbal story. This is seen as the highest form of punishment, on a social, economic, and religious level. It is equal to cutting off all connection to their Goddess and any protection she would afford them.
