6th Army was a field army of the Syaran National Army during the Zemplen War. Commanded by Colonel General Zlaten Danielov Velikov, 6th Army fought as part of Army Group Beta on the central front of the Zemplen War.
History
6th Army was activated in July 2008 as negotiations broke down between Ruvelka and Syara. Among the first Syaran armies mobilized, it played a major role in driving Ruvelkan forces from Zemplen as part of the August Offensive. During Operation Aspis 6th Army invaded central Ruvelka attempting to press onto Sagerejo, but was halted by the end of September. 6th Army was a major target for Ruvelkan forces during the Ruvelkan Winter Counter-Offensive, but held most of its ground and eventually repulsed Ruvelkan forces from its area of operations. 6th Army conducted a small number of local offensives during the winter of 2008-2009 before conducting Operation Polyandreion, which resulted in the Battle of Sagerejo. After months of heavy fighting much of 6th Army's forces were significantly reduced in combat power, contributing heavily to Syara's decision to halt strategic offensives. 6th Army spend much of the remainder of the war holding its position at the foothills of the Kurilla Mountains, launching local, small-scale offensive operations. 6th Army was a major target for Operation Homefront and was forced to retreat, losing much of its heavy weapons and equipment in the process. 6th Army unsuccessfully attempted to hold Zemplen before the end of the war, and was stood down shortly afterwards.
