Sofia (Sofia Joanna Alexandra Carlos de Lizza e Avis; born 3 May 1998) is the heir presumptive to the Portuguese throne.

Early Life

Sofia was born on the 3rd of May 1998 as the second child and daughter of Charles IV and Emmanuella de Lizza. As her birth marked a possible continuity of fresh Portuguese princess, she was cared for much and cherished by her parents, alongside her sister Isabella. The two sisters, having already fostered a strong sisterly bond grew closer with the birth of their youngest sister Alexandra just 4 years after the birth of Sofia herself.

During the entirety of her childhood, Sofia managed to acquire one special trait when compared to her other 2 sisters, that is being the most fluent English speaker among them. This is largely due to her alleged tendency to to abnormally watch classical British English movies, which overtime might have contributed largely to her naturalized posh English accent.

Upbringing

Thanks to the strong sisterly bond with Isabella, Sofia was to follow suit alongside the former to the UK where until their subsequent return to Portugal, lived and spent most of her time with her beloved sister. However, despite all this the two sisters shared contrasting favourites and hobbies, as Sofia who preferred "sentimental" activities such as drawing, yoga while Isabella herself preferred the more "physical" activities such as football, swimming, etc.

Additionally, thanks to her keen and natural interest in drawing, she became an exceptionally accomplished painter by the age of 9, impressing her fellow friends, teachers and family members. By the age of 11, with the help of her devoted family members, she began a small business of selling art drawings which reportedly racked up a large amount of 2,000 British pounds in just under 3 months.

Initially, upon learning of her 16 year old sister's affair with the 45 year old English billionaire Simon Nixon, she voiced some soft criticism and skeptical remarks of the latter's relationship, citing that the relationship could not become serious as Isabella was required to be with a more "fertile" husband as to provide a heir for the future queen. Regardless, as Sofia herself came to pursue her own relationship around 2 years later, she eventually came to accept her sister's decision and was reportedly friendly with her then future brother-in-law.

Crown Princess of Portugal

During the last years of her father's reign, following the princesses' return to Portugal, Sofia again exemplified her sister in her choice of university as she enrolled into the Lisbon University. Eventually, though Isabella would graduate with a MOS degree, to the expectancy of many, Sofia's later graduation with the Master of Arts degree proved remarkable and satisfying, as it showed her full potential of being an extremely talented painter in the future.

When their father Charles unexpectedly abdicated due to health reasons, the throne was automatically passed to her sister Isabella and in an another lucky situation, Sofia who was still in university was consequently made heir presumptive, as she was the closest relative to the new queen that is fit for heir while awaiting for the birth of Isabella's own offspring.

When she eventually graduated, contrary to her perceived "passive and calm" nature, Sofia reportedly had a change of heart and decided to enlist in the prestigious British Army, to which she currently maintains an active service and holds the rank of Major, which earned her much fame and attention among the local Portuguese citizens. As of recently, Crown Princess Sofia had raised possibilites of her in further enlisting in the UK's amphibious special forces unit, the Special Boat Service.

Personal Information

Currently, she lives with the rest of her family members in the Ribeira Palace, which has been a main residence of Portuguese kings and queens for around 514 years, amidst rumours that her sister, the queen was planning on moving out with her new husband to a different royal residence elsewhere in Portugal itself.

Inheriting her past habits and alike, she is a devoted and keen patron of several arts organizations inside Portugal and had also partook in several events concerning charities for North African and Arab refugees affected by the civil war in their respective countries.

Interestingly, in a particular interview back in 2018, the Portuguese crown princess revealed the vast amount of art and drawing collections stored or hang inside her chamber. The paintings which are comprised of either the ones made by Sofia himself and those that the former bought from auctions were said to had totaled to an amount of $525 million.
