There are some 7000 lakes in Azovskaya and many creeks and streams found throughout the nation. The Yuna is the nation's major river. 3 of the 5 largest cities in Azovskaya are situated along the river including the capital Gatchina. Running off the Yuna is the smaller Kevyana.
The highest point is the Chenaya Hill at 345 metres (1,132 ft), and the lowest point is on the Yuna River at 90 m (295 ft). The average elevation of Azovskaya is 160 m (525 ft) above sea level. Azovskaya's climate has mild to cold winters. The average January minimum temperatures range from −4 °C (24.8 °F) in to −8 °C (17.6 °F). The Summers are cool and moist with an average temperature of 18 °C (64.4 °F). Azovskaya has an average annual rainfall of 550 to 700 mm (21.7 to 27.6 in). The country has a maritime climate.
