The First Battle of Satavina (Astari: an-Tur-Khrosi er-Satavina), was an attempted landing operation conducted by the Principality of Ryrri against the Principality of Satavina, targeting its eponymous capital. The battle was engaged by Prince Ry-Morcanyé of Ryrri, known after his mid-battle execution as 'the Robber Prince,' with the goal of stealing Satavinian ships from port in order to carry out extended warfare against the Sivuk, a seafaring people who had successfully subdued the majority of the pre-existing Astari principalities. The battle was an overwhelming victory for the Satavinians, who were so successful in defending Satavina's port that they began to board invading ships as they arrived, eliminating their crews. Prince Ry-Morcanyé, who had claimed the title of King of the Astari in the leadup to the battle, was captured by Aucanna Blood-Moon, following his defeat in a duel between the two monarchs. She personally chained the Prince up, dubbed him Robber Prince, then threw him overboard to drown in the Gulf of Erys. Upon realizing the fate of their Prince, the majority of the remaining Ryrri forces summarily surrendered.
The Ryrri forces, primarily composed of the Astari of Ryrri as well as men and women recruited from coastal principalities, outnumbered the Satavinians. The disorganized nature of their landing rendered the numerical advantage nearly moot, and a large portion of the Ryrri army had already surrendered by the time of the Prince's execution.
The battle cemented Satavina's position as the preeminent (and soon to be only remaining) Astari principality. With the annihilation of its naval and ground forces, the Principality of Ryrri fell to a Sivuk invasion within a year of the battle's conclusion. The captured Ryrri Astari were freed shortly after the battle, and the majority of them remained in Satavinian territory to establish new households.
