Zurmava, officially the Zurmavan Federation, is a sovereign nation located in Central-Olivacia. The head of state is the king. The country consist of twenty-one administrative divisions called 'satrapies'. The representatives of the satrapies called 'satraps' who are elected every five years and have to be confirmed by the king. Along with the satrapy elections the country elections takes place where people vote for parties to take the parliament's 100 seats. Currently the strongest political party is the Royalist Party. As of 2021, its population is 21.2 million, composed mostly of ethnic Zurmavans, Qoroms, Salmeres, and Vavros. Zahemin is the country's largest city and serves as its capital. About 26% of the population was urbanized as of 2020. The national animal is the zurmavan elephant which became endangered due to poaching. The country's official religion is Morukism which is followed by most of it's citizens and a main unifier force of the country. Currently the political situation of the country is tense. Out of it's 21 satrapies 6 of them where armed conflicts are regular. Growing problem is the rapidly expanding organized crime who take part in opium and heroin trade, diamond smuggling and human trafficking. Zurmava has a primarily sub-tropical climate with two very distinct seasons. In the rainy season, the country receives between 650 and 950 mm of rainfall; in the dry season a hot dry wind from the Northern Desert blows. The rainy season lasts approximately five months, May/June to October, and is shorter in the north of the country.

Etymology

The name Zurmava has been historically, and interchangeably applied to both the states and the area where it is located on which many of those states, and smaller predecessor states have existed upon.

In old Zurmavan, Zurmava means 'lakefolk', as 'Zur' means 'lake' and 'mava' means 'folk' or 'people'.

The Federal Parliament of Zurmava contains 101 seats in an unicameral system. One seat is the king's who don't represent any political party and have a veto right.

Royalist Party, 52 seats A conservative, federalist, market liberal party representing monarchist ideas. Currently the leading party.

Solidarity Party, 20 seats A moderate social-democratic party with protectionist economic model and also a federalist. The second strongest party. Formed a coalition with the Liberal Coalition to balance the Royalist Party's majority.

Morukist Wave, 13 seats A radical, ultra-conservative, theocratic party who have close ties to the insurgent group Ulnuk's Sword. They grow popularity rapidly, especially since the Qorom situation due to the party's populist rhetorics. They are unitarians, who want to reduce the federal system and merge the satrapies more. They also republicans and want to abolish the monarchy and replace it with a theocratic republic.

Liberal Coalition, 8 seats A moderate, liberal, progressive, free market, federalist party with strong international focus. Some of them want to abolish the monarchy, others just want to weaken it. They are in coalition with the Solidarity Party.

Radical Patriot Movement, 4 seats An unitarian, republican, populist party. They believe in secularism and in a strong government with protectionist economy. The most notable trait of the party is its' militarism. Many members of the army are supporting this party.

People's Union, 2 seats A radical atheist and communist party. They have strong international ties with other communist parties around the world. They want to introduce a strong government with command economy.

Qorom League, 1 seat A minority party representing the Qorom people. A moderate, liberal organization and because of that the majority of Qorom people support other parties or reject the current political system and supports the Qorom Liberation Front.

(WIP) Zurmava is a federation of 21 satrapy. Governance of the satrapies is divided between the crown and the satrapy governments, with different powers reserved for each. Satrapies are led by satraps who are elected locally and confirmed by the king. The 21 satrapies:

Zahemin The capital satrapy of Zurmava. It is located on the Zahemin Peninsula, bordered by Lake Jalef. Zurmava's capital is located here and it is also called Zahemin. This satrapy have the highest population. Most of the country's industry is located here.

Babojeran The second most populous satrapy. Agriculturally the most developed region. The country's biggest coffee producing area with plantations mostly owned by companies from Hoterallia.

Salmarik Located around Lake Marna. Pastoral farming is the dominant industry region, but around the lake people grow wheat and cassava too. This satrapy is also home to the Salmere people, who are an ethnic minority in Zurmava.

Qorvesh This region is mostly controlled by Qorom separatists. The country's only diamond deposits are located here and the separatists earn money by operating these mines. These conflict diamonds are banned in a lot of countries but are smuggled out of the country. The strongest faction in Qorvesh is the Qorom Liberation Front which is a Maoist guerilla organization, but organized crime groups' presence are also strong.

The value of Zurmava's exports fell from ₳12.17 billion in 2011 to ₳9.72 billion in 2018 due to interior clashes in the country. Agriculture represents 34% of its gross domestic product and occupies 80% of the working population. It consists mostly of irrigation based agriculture around the lakes. The people grow crops of wheat, rice, maize (corn), cassava, peanuts, coffee, tobacco and cotton. People often call Zurmava the "breadbasket of Olivacia". A large part of the economic activity of the country is funded by international aid, despite having copper ores in abundance. Although Zurmava faced significant obstacles to future economic development, it displayed extraordinary potential. Zurmava contained little oil and no precious metals or sea coasts, but the country was self-sufficient in many areas and was endowed with fertile land. The top five export commodities in 2017 were, in order of importance: grains (wheat, maize, rice), ACU ₳7.3 billion (60.5% of total exports), copper, ₳1.6 billion (13.3%), coffee ₳705.8 million (5.8%), fruits, nuts: ₳389.4 million (3.2%) and ceramics: ₳255.5 million (2.1%). The national currency is called sigloi (ZSI).
