Sinjeong; (신정, born Jeon Soo-yeon, 전수연 (born 9 December 1963) is the Empress of Buyeong (황후, hwanghu), who ascended to the Rose Throne in 1979. Sinjeong, who was educated at Harvard and Oxford, had a prior career as a diplomat.

Sinjeong was born in Gwanghae as the eldest child of Seongjeong, Hong Sa-rang, then Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Buyeong. She was formally invested as crown princess in 1958, upon the ascension of her father Emperor Seongjeong in 1957. She later studied history at Gwanghae University and TBD!foreignuniversity from 1977 to 1979.
