Vyvluder Roitverieer (pronounced /vʏvlədeɾ ɾoitveɾjeːɾ/, English: Vyvlander Postal Service, often abbreviated to VRV) is the national postal service of Vyvland. It is state-owned and headquartered in Weerm, in the borough of Gyrmdal in Vlud. It operates 7,500 post offices and carries out the majority of deliveries of post and parcels in Vyvland, with some operations abroad. It is legally obliged to deliver post at least weekly to all adresses in Vyvland, with a few exceptions for remote islands; in practice, most areas receive a daily delivery. Responsibility for the postal service lies with the Domestic Minister.
History
The first corporation to hold the title of official postal service was founded in 1734. It was originally known as Þi Kyngligi Vyvlunderi Writingsferieren (The Royal Vyvlander Letter Couriers), although with time, and after the Niysgroib reforms, this was modified to its present form. In the early nineteenth century, Adulv the New significantly expanded delivery service in Vyvland, especially within growing industrial centres. By 1850, the company's distinctive orange postboxes had become commonplace in Vyvland's cities and towns.
After the Vyvlander Civil War, the postal service kept its name in both North and South Vyvland, although the company was forced to split. The southern postal service had a strong reputation for its inefficiency, which was markedly worse during periods of mandatory letter-checking under Jeusev Jueves and Erman Sanker. The two companies re-merged in 1983, a few weeks before official Vyvlander reunification. Until 1999, the company's head office was at Pedersdad near Lorence, although in that year it moved to its present location in Vlud.
Operations
VRV issues stamps and delivers post across Vyvland, in addition to large deliveries through its freight subsidiary Fi Vrobrengeren. It maintains a fleet of vans, lorries and some bicycles, and is responsible for the upkeep of every post office and postbox in the country.
Recently, the company has started to expand operations abroad, particularly in Magane, where it is one of the most popular delivery/courier services.
