Politics of Vyvland |
The Vyvlander Front (also known simply as the Front) is a Vyvlander far-right political party, known especially for their tough stances on immigration and anti-establishment attitude. They are currently led by Anton Eskmanteloim. The party runs under the motto yses laan vro ys, which translates to our land for us in English, in reference to their anti-immigration stance and ethnic nationalism.
History
The Vyvlander Front was formed mainly by more extreme supporters of the Nationalist Movement in South Vyvland, who were often disillusioned with the more moderate stances of the National Party. They frequently have gained between one and six seats in Parliaments since then, despite their very poor performance in the 2009 election due in part to their leader, Korniliys Vamper, being sent to prison for racially-motivated assault in the week prior to the election (and thus being unable to contest his seat). At the 2013 election, they regained a significant number of seats, increasing to 11. This was thought to be caused by a movement of right-wing protest votes from the National Party after their perceived entry into mainstream politics, in addition to anti-immigrant sentiment and financial dissatisfaction.
