History
The liberal party was originally established in 1779 as a resistance movement which took power in 1787 and overthrew settler (originally from Aziallis) rule. It existed as one of the two major parties rivalling the conservatives until the leftists gained support in the 1920s and changed the 130 year old 2 party system Agarntrop had been used to. The liberals lost more and more popularity to the leftists and far left PWL until it merged with the leftists in 1961 to create the ADC. The liberal party reamerged in 1983 as a 'third way' movement. It has never been a political giant but it has provided coalitions to secure majorities for both the ADC and the CL in the past.
