The Hero Class was designed to support major worldwide deployments of the Spirit of Hope Army, enabling the transport of almost an entire mechanized regiment in one vessel that could support both amphibious and dock side deployments. The class has 6 vehicle decks with a combined area of 26,000 m2 and 3 personnel decks that can support up to 5,000 embarked landing forces for up to 3 weeks.

To support amphibious offloading operations the ship contains a rear well deck, 140 meters long by 20 meters wide, that can support up to five  simultaneous LCAC's, or a variety of other landing support vessels. The ship's weather deck, 91 meters long and 30 meters wide, can support helicopter operations and has a ramp leading to the vehicle storage to assist with offloading. The ship lacks any traditional hanger space or aircraft support infrastructure on the weather deck.

For armaments the class only carries 2 RIM-116 RAM's for self defense, though vehicles can be placed on the weather deck to provide additional firepower if needed.

Major Force Landing ships, later renamed the Hope Class, is a class of amphibious warships operated by the Spirit of Hope Navy. The MFLS are capable of carrying almost an entire Spirit of Hope Army mechanized regiment and landing them in hostile territory through landing craft and limited helicopter operations.

Design
