The Greens (Mespalian Vicheræt, French: Les Verts) is a green political party in Mespalia.
The green movement started in the 1970s, but it was dispersed among hundreds of smaller organizations and groups with no central leadership. The Greens were created by a merger of three major groups in 1982: an anti-nuclear power People's Coalition Against Nuclear Power, an activist enviromentalist group Sôiâiat that was first created to oppose logging and deforestation; and National Organization of Environmentalists, an umbrella organization for various environmentalist groups.
The Greens advocate for increased environmental protection, social justice for marginalized groups and grassroots democracy. They are strongly against nuclear power and support decommissioning of Mespalia's nuclear power plants and replacing them with renewable energy. Though the party claims to be above the left-right spectrum, the party is nearly universally considered to be left-wing: they favor a strong social security net and state influence in economy to combat inequality and oppose what they see as "rampant free-market capitalism".
