| This is the most numerous tank in active service. This was the first Elatian tank with 125mm smoothbore gun and composite armour. All vehicles in standing brigades upgraded to V-74M3 configuration, with gunner's thermal sight, lengthened autoloader, modernised three-axis gun-stabilisation system, new digital FCS, frequency-hopping encrypted radio, heavy ERA (resistant against both HEAT and KE) and AT-11 Sniper missile compatibility. The latest V-74M3A  modification (which remains uncommon) adds a commander's panoramic thermal sight and APS.

The V-58 originated as an Elatian copy of the {{wp|T-54/T-55|T-54 main battle tank}}. They were modified in the 1970's with cloned {{wp|Royal Ordnance L7|105mm rifled gun}} reverse-engineered from captured [[Enyama]]n [[Cavalier Main Battle Tank]]. They were further upgraded in early-80's-90's with laser rangefinder, uprated engine (780hp), stabilised main gun, digital FCS and navigation system, smoke grenade dischargers, DU-cored APFSDS rounds and AT-10 Stabber missile capability and explosive reacive armour. The vast majority still have IR searchlight and active nightsight rather than thermal imaging.
