Albora (Luseterian: Albóra; [al'boːxa]) officially the Republic of Albora (Luseterian: Réspublyca du Albóra), is a country in Litoral Estromena. It is the 5th Largest State by Population and 8th Largest State by Land Area. Its capital is Bergesença and its most populous city is Penàsco. Albora is the only country in Estromena to have Luseterian as an official language, and is noted as one of the most multicultural nations in the world. Albora is bound by the Profidean Ocean to its East and North, [PLACEEHOLDER] to its west, and [PLACEHOLDER] in the south. The Velmurô River Basin dominates much of the interior of the country, home to vast tropical grasslands, and equitorial rainforests. The south is mostly dominated by Subtropical forests and Subtropical highlands. Albora is a biodiversity hotspot and home to numerous endemic species of animals and plants.
Prior to colonialization, the territory that is now consitered Albora was inhabited by various tribal nations. Before the arrival of Cristofuro Àlancequer de Tristaó is 1509, these people had organized complex societies and intercommunity dynamics. Tristaó would claim the area for the Empire of Lusetra. Albora would remain a colony until 1807, Colonial Militia officials under the command of Loranç du Zabuja rebeled against the crown. The colony would fight a war of independence from 1807 until after the defeat of the colonial government at the Battle of Agrua dulla Tèranella in 1818. The Provisional State of Albora would adopt a constitution in 1821, making Albora a federal presidential republic. Slvery would be made de facto illegal in 1879, and would formally be outlawed in 1901. The country would suffer from a bitter Albosane Civil War from 1927 to 1936, between Constituxonalistà and the Réspublycanós. The country would become a Unitary parliamentary republic following the conflict with a new constitution signed in 1938. A coup d'état would bring a Military Junta to power under the leadership of General Oswaldo Verrusté from 1957 to 1988. A return to democracy would bring about significant political and economic change. The countries current constitution was composed in 1991 and declares the nation to be a democratic, republic.
Albora is a major regional power with one of the largest militaries on the continent and is consitered a middle power and emerging power. Albora is catagorized as a developing newly industrialized country with an advanced emerging economy. Albora is a major agracultural center, it is the largest producer of coffee, sugarcane, and oranges, and is a major producer of maize, wheat, and rice. Social, political, and economic advancements are hindered by corruption, social inequality, and crime. Albora remain the founding member of several international organizations and supernational institutions.
