In Morrawia, public holidays may be legislated at the federal, statewide or lower levels. Many holidays are observed nationwide.
By law, "the Sundays and the public holidays remain protected as days of rest from work and of spiritual elevation". Thus all Sundays are, in a manner, public holidays – but usually not understood by the term "holiday" (except for, normally, Easter Sunday and Pentecost Sunday).
Public holidays apart from the Sundays (there must be some of them constitutionally) can be declared by law by either the Federal Congress or the State Congress for their respective jurisdictions. By federal law, only the 6 days are made a holiday at present: Memorial Day, Constitution Day, Labour Day, Flag of the Nation Day, Republic of Morrawia Day and Victory Day; the others, even the ones celebrated all over Morrawia, are made holidays by state legislation. Days of federal elections, either presidential or congressional are also holidays in order for citizens to "appropriately execute their patriotic duty of voting".
These "voting holidays" as they are often called are on the first Tuesdays and Friday in March (polls close at 7PM on Friday), for Federal House Election and the Presidential Election, and first Tuesday and Friday in November (polls close at 3PM on Friday) for the Federal Senate Election. For the potential second presidential round of voting, third Friday in March is designated as a holiday too.

Quiet days
A couple of days are designated Tiché dny (quiet days) by state legislation, which regularly means that public dancing events, music at inns (if live or if not much quieter than usual) etc. are prohibited.
Some public holidays are quiet days:
- Good Friday
- Corpus Christi (where it is a public holiday)
- Memorial Day
- All Saints (where it is a public holiday and in a couple of other states)
Some days may be quiet days without being public holidays:
- Christmas Eve (beginning in the afternoon, in some states)
- Ash Wednesday (in Turhinia)
- Holy Thursday (in some states; in some of them beginning in the evening)
- Holy Saturday (in some states)
- All Souls' Day (in Polinia and the Sollandy)
In a limited number of cases – apart from All Saints which, however, has long been associated in popular understanding with remembrance of the dead. The status of quiet days is also given to festivities joyous in nature: in North Banawia, the highest Christian holidays are half-quiet days (until midday) and in Baweria, Easter Sunday and Christmas Day are two-thirds-quiet days (until 16 o'clock).
Flag days
A yet third category that may, sometimes, be called "holidays" in a sense are the "flag days" (Dny vlajek), not to be confused with Flag of the Nation Day. Only the very highest institutions, and the military, use the national flags at every day, so the directives when flags are to be displayed mark the days in question as special.
Flags are to be shown by Presidential Decree on:
- Memorial Day
- Constitution Day
- Labour Day
- Flag of the Nation Day
- Victory Day
- Republic of Morrawia Day
- days of national or local tragedy
- days of tragedy of various nations
- election days
and by state decrees on other days, such as election days for state assemblies, state constitution days, anniversary of the election of the President of the Republic (in Králowec, F.D.) and so forth.
Frequently flags are ordered ad hoc to be shown at half-mast in cases of national mourning.
Unofficial holidays
Either Carnival Monday or Mardi Gras is a de facto holiday in some towns and cities in Catholic northern and Morrawia which have a strong Carnival tradition.
Also, Christmas Eve is developing into a semi-holiday: from mid-afternoon it is practically treated as a holiday, and while shops still open in the morning, for other businesses (apart from those that work even on holidays) this is becoming increasingly unusual; schools are closed in any case.
Other notable days also include Presidents Day and Sovereigns´ Day.
Federal Celebration Months
Federal Celebration Months are a special kind of celebratory occasions, which are not official on either federal and state level, but serve as celebrations or commemorations of various historical, cultural, and national achievements, tragedies and important events. The list is also not at all set, with various months being designated for the same occasion across the world and the Morrawia itself. The following list is one found on the nationalhouse.gov.mo as being the most widely used by the people and the government:
