The Galantish Navy is the naval warfare service branch of the Galantish Armed Forces. It traces its origins to the 18th century, following the Treaty of Astera, marking the end of the Galantish Civil War and the establishment of a unified navy independent of any hereditary hierarchy. The Galantish Navy operates a fleet of technologically sophisticated ships and submarines, including 2 nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, 2 landing platform/docks, 4 guided missile cruisers, 18 guided missile destroyers, 32 guided missile frigates, 24 patrol vessels, 8 nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines, and 16 attack submarines. It also operates hundreds of high-quality aircraft as a maritime complement. The highest rank in the Galantish Navy is held by the office of the Prime Minister, currently held by Siyon Chehai.

Establishment

The concept of a unified Galantish naval force had been around for a long time. Such a force had existed for hundreds of years, under the Aesolis and Turian dynasties. However, on both occasions, the unified naval force was comprised of by donations and tributes from other noble families and was pledged entirely to the dynasty in control. Despite it's pledge of loyalty, the force, being funded by other nobles, would often suffer severe hinderances in terms of procurement and unity, the nobles using their contributions or absence of contributions to the navy as a mode of leverage upon the dynasty and, most commonly, other nobles.

These issues persisted until the Yaitai Invasions, where the force was able to unify in an effort to stave off their Yaitai attackers. Despite their unity, the force proved entirely ineffective due to backhand effects of the aforementioned issues, and lost maritime superiority fairly early in the war. The Yaitai were able to mount landings across Galantos, completely uncontested, for nearly a decade until the end of the conflict as a result of the Treaty of Astula. Any musings of a unified Galantish maritime force disappeared for centuries, as the Galantish Kingdoms engaged in diplomatic jostling and land-based warfare with one another for control. Eventually, this jostling culminated to the Galantish Civil War, another near-decade long conflict, which resulted in the creation of a unified Galantish Navy under no royal banner.

Treaty of Astera

The Treaty of Astera established the Popula Rexula ("People's Reign") and the Concilia ed Rexultas ("Council of Thrones") under the Royal Magistrate. With the establishment of the Popula Rexula, the Treaty also established the Galantish Armed Forces the Galantish Navy included, with their allegiance pledged to a hierarchy under the Popula Rexula, this being the modern form of the Galantish Navy. The Galantish Navy immediately gained responsibility for Galantish territories abroad, and received an unprecedented level of funding from the Popula and Concilia for this purpose.

Bases and Operations

The Galantish Navy currently operates three major naval bases in Galantos.

• GNB Talyra - Located in Asteris, this is currently the largest naval base in Galantos and one of the largest in the world. It is home to Galantos' two supercarriers and a rotating complement of xx-class guided missile destroyers and xx-class frigates.
• GNB Astula - Located in Luxiona Nair, this is home to the majority of Galantos' nuclear deterrent, housing xx-class and xx-class submarines.
• GNB Douhan - Located in the Yaitai Dominion, this is home to Galantos' xx-class guided missile cruisers, as well as some xx-class guided missile destroyers and xx-class frigates, and houses the majority of Galantos' patrol vessels.

The Galantish Navy also operates four major naval bases abroad.

• GNB Mahastra - Naval base for the protection of trade partner and treaty-bound ally, Mahastra.
• GNB Acela - The only Galantish naval base outside of the Galantish Ocean.
• JNB Hongzhou - Joint naval base for the protection of it's military ally and trade partner, Taoyang.
• JNB Duhai - Joint naval base for the protection of it's military ally and trade partner, Taoyang.
