The Right-Councilists, also known as the Old Right or Orthodox Councilists, is a political faction of the All-Councilist Union (UCÔ). It contrasts with the reformist progressive Left-Councilists, while Centrist Councilists preside somewhere inbetween the two. The Right have the second-largest faction in the party, however its influence has diminished in recent decades.
The Right-Councilists are typically less progressive on social issues and more orthodox-councilist on economic issues; this includes a lack of warmth towards socially liberal issues (though opposition to these issues varies by person), opposition to decentralisation, advocacy for nationalisation of co-operative businesses, cooler relations with the capitalist East, and heavier military spending.
