The crisis was a culmination of the two governments' competing interests in the Salacian Ocean and the Malaio-Ochran region. The Gristo-Serkonan government also opposed the joint Zacapine-Wazheganon military installation in Winivere Bay, concerned that the ongoing dynamics in the Northeast Norumbian region would be altered with the Zacapine entry.

The Salacian Naval Crisis, also known as the February Crisis was a 9-day confrontation between the governments of Gristol-Serkonos and the United Zacapine Republics. The crisis was a culmination of the two governments' competing interests in the Salacian Ocean and the Malaio-Ochran region. The Gristo-Serkonan government also opposed the joint Zacapine-Wazheganon military installation in Winivere Bay, concerned that the ongoing dynamics in the Northeast Norumbian region would be altered with the Zacapine entry.
