The Songswept Orchestra is a major faction in Dreamspace. It is a Musical Junta where numerous conductors of ensembles form a state, with Grand Conductor Clara Aida de Petra serving as their head. It is built around the concept of music, and is noted to be well more syncretic when compared to its Rival Roscea. It's main goals in Dreamspace are to continuously expand, and pursue the recreation of the universe's song. Broadway, the capital of the Songswept Orchestra, is a massive moon-sized habitat where raw music is born, to flow into the rest of the stars.

Government

Songswept operates as a Musical Junta, a government where music studios hold power through might and song. Throughout the wonderlands of the Orchestra, many aspiring musicians gather in massive military-musical groups known as Ensembles, enforcing their lyrics (laws) on wherever the stars shine. It may be compared to the nomadic hordes of Earth in terms of a sociopolitical structure.

The Grand Conductor is chosen directly from the most influential artist of these ensembles, generally determined via a popular first-past-the-post vote. Clara Aida, the incumbent Grand Conductor, is a part of the Petra Ensemble, a musical clique with an aggressive marketing policy. Her actions as part of her Ensemble would lead into the continuation of the Songswept Invasions, leading into the capture of about 40% of Roscea's territories.

Petra Ensemble	Militarist, Conservative	Ruled directly by Clara Aida de Petra, the Petra Ensemble is the main faction of Songswept, and the leading policy-driver. It moves for the subjugation of all of its neighbours to appreciate song. A hardliner sub-faction known as the Ferrum Ensemble is well-known for its apocalyptic stance on outright destruction.
Lumen Ensemble	Pacifist, Liberal, Corporate	Lumen Ensemble is situated over Melodia, and functions as a faction that seeks to steer Songswept into a more economic-focused path, rather than of conquest.
Poesya Ensemble	Traditionalist/Isolationist, Autocratic	Poesya Ensemble was formed from a two-way split of the Instrumentya Ensemble along with the Numera Ensemble. It seeks to go back to the old ways of Songswept as an idyllic secluded community to search for song on their own.
Numera Ensemble	Technocratic, Autocratic	Formed along with the Poesya Ensemble, Numera Ensemble is a technocratic faction that seeks to gather sciences all across the universe to create the Song of Life. They are aligned with Lumen as a voting bloc to enable a less heavy-handed approach to gaining patronage.

Additionally, it possesses the various patrons, in support of its art. In practice, those listed operate more as protectorates rather than the actual protector.

Demographics

Songswept's demographics are split between the majority space-faring Alfar, and the wonderlands under their forced patronage. A general majority of Ensembles will be noticeably Alfar, while those who work on the ground will often be native races of those worlds. It is noted that the demographic makeup of Songswept is similar to Roscea's due to the fact that the orchestra's territories have been carved out from the latter.

Religion

Carmenitia is the state religion of Songswept, enforced all throughout occupied Dreamspace. It was born a few aeons prior to Songswept's establishment in the newly-born wonderlands where an enlightening voice sang for a year straight, and drove its audience to devotion. In this sect, Nymenna is thought to be the origin of the song; and so to recreate the music perceived in the ages past, one required all the resources of the universe in their hands. The Songswept Orchestra was formed as a result. It was said that true comprehension of music yielded the power of creation well beyond the paltry power the gods behind Wonderlands have.
