Voting
Main article: Voting in the Roosian Song Festival
Throughout the contest's history, voting has remained relatively constant. The current system, where 3-member juries and a televote each account for half a region's vote, and are combined to make a 7-5-3-2-1 vote, was introduced in 2015. The 7, 5, 3-1 system has been utilised since 1973, after a tie between Coal Coast and Panem the previous year.
Voting Systems
Year | Points | Voting system |
---|---|---|
1968 - 1972 | 5-1 | Each region has 5 jurors, who each award 1 point to their favourite entries. |
1973 - 1992 | 7, 5, 3-1 | Each region has 2 jurors, one professional, and one demoscopic. The top fives of these jurors are combined to create the region's score |
1993 - 1996 | Each region has a 3-member professional jury, and optionally a televote. The top fives of the jury and public are combined to create the region's score | |

2013 - 2014 | The contest runs over two nights. On the first night, each region has a 3-member professional jury and a televote. the top fives of the jury and public are combined to create the region's score. On the second night, each region only uses a televote to award their points | |
2015 - 2024 | Each region has a 3-member professional jury, and a televote. The full rankings of the jury and televote are combined to create the region's score. | |
2025 - | 7, 5, 3-1 x 2 | The jury and the televote each award an independent set of points. First the jury points are announced. Then the televoting points are calculated together, before being added to the jury points, effectively doubling the points which can be awarded in total. |
